Padma
I like KDE. For me, it just works. :) Although Iam considering giving Fluxbox a try - I DO occasionally like the minimalist approach.
SwiftDeath
Gnome, but sometimes I go in flux too play games. I may switch soon cause gnome is showing up my desktop and its driving me crazy! lol
Crashdamage
Fluxbox, but very simplified. No slit, no dockapps - nothing, just plenty of keybindings. Looks great and ultrafast and stable. Sometimes I really get basic with Ratpoison. I've got plenty of horsepower to run whatever, but less is more.
armondf
I've been using Enlightenment more than the others. I have completely redone virtually everything from the menus to creating custom "kickers", etc etc. And it's quick. I've written a session handler for most of the apps I run as well, so it performs well as a previously *un*sessioned window manager. regards, Armond
SoulSe
You can't have KDE and Gnome on the same line - I use Gnome and I'd never come close to KDE, I really can't stand it. Anyway, I understand the reasoning. I use Gnome, fluxbox sometimes.
Lord Tom
Here GNOME: Just high quality and configurable.
iphitus
do we *really* need another of these threads? especially since all of the poll items are poorly done, dont put gnome and KDE on the same line. i use fluxbox iphitus
Lord Tom
do we *really* need another of these threads? actually no. but still I had post it.
luizmdk
For me KDE is the best for bringing dozens of programs, if it didn't go that I would prefer GNOME
Andrewski
Well, I don't use any KDE programs and I'm not suffering from any lack. ;)
liquidzoo
do we *really* need another of these threads? especially since all of the poll items are poorly done, dont put gnome and KDE on the same line. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, we did as a matter of fact; and the users that got pm's from me know why. KDE and Gnome are on the same line to allow me to put another option there. You are only allowed 5 options in a poll...that's it. KDE and Gnome are the 2 most commonly used DE's. I'm not grouping them together because they are similar, just due to the fact that they are used by the majority, and I wanted to have another definitive option there. Some people may not like the fact that I grouped them...tough. I have my reasons.
arctic
well, i think i klicked kde/gnome (don't remember) but i would have loved :woops: another option, one saying: several smaller desktop environments. because i really can tell, if - apart from kde - i use primary xfce4, blackbox, fluxbox, icewm, twm or windowmaker. it constanlty changes, depending on my mood and willingness to tweak on some de's. ;) Edited August 8, 2004 by arctic
Jet2k5
Just starting to use Flux a lot and I like it I also Like KDE and Gnome they are all great to me, but I have to say I like Fluxbox the best there is more space to put things that are candy to the eye....<-- what ever that is suppose to mean... -Luis
