  1. Hey Artee I saw that Linux Today Link to your Page,, Nicely Done!
  2. Yup i duel boot, But if a game can be play in Linux natively i play in linux. I hate using Cedega because i think they do more harm than good. Game companies are never going to port a game to linux if cedega can emulate windows (why would anyone what to emulate windows?). saying that,, i'll boot into xp to play Brother in Arms and if it crashes i expect it... One thing is for sure Games (the good ones) are coming to Linux slowly but surely.. and in the future you will be able to go to deptartment stores buy a game off the shelf and run it in Linux.. (ps i know there are acouple of them already I HAVE THEM :) ) When that day comes XP will be History. just my 2 cents. Ps A.I great work on let us know all the games available to linux and those that are coming soon.
  3. I have Pentium D 3ghz i have to tell you it screams, But only problem is the Price of Intel Chips compare to AMD. But besides that i find Pentiums to be more reliable than AMD i went through 2 AMD Athlon XP 3000, though 1 i believe was mainboard related :( the other was Chip failure not due to heat (i use Danger Dan liquid cooling).. So that why i went back to Intel. currently running Mandriva LE2005 kernel 2.6.12-12smp
  4. Does it also apply to Pentuim D cpu's? or just to Hyper Threading CPU's? Becuase the Pentuim D are 2 Physical Processors.

  6. That is a NAT problem most likely in your router . you may want to Port forward and shut off you router firewall (if you feel OK with that) once you do this you should be able to get Local and Remote connections.

  11. ddmcse, So i should add the port number to host.allow or do i need to add the IP address? do add xxxx/tcp or 127.0.0.1 xxxx/tcp ??? still a little confused
  12. Hello all, I've been beating my head against a wall trying to figure out how to open to spefic port on my LE2005 machine. I have shorewall running with the option xxxxx/tcp but with i run a port scanner on my system it says that port xxxxx is stealth.. usually this would be good but i need this port open. At first i though it was a NAT problem but i have my Router setup correctly with port forwarding. any idea's ???? 18. I decided to ask if anyone knows any Tips or Tricks for Mandriva LE-2005, Things like what services should and shouldn't be running. Tips/Tricks don't have to be only about Services they could be about Programs that enhance LE-2005. Or software thats included on it's DVD's or Cdroms. I'm sure this topic will help alot of new Mandriva Users and Some not to new Mandriva Users
