  1. Most likely nothing considering what area we're looking at in comparison to the amount out there. But if you don't look you'll never find it so.....
  2. Doesn't really take to long DragonMage. My oc'd to 1g T-Bird can do 3 a day. And if Paul is like the rest of us he's running it on more then one box also so they add up quickly.
  3. Congratulations on making the big time. I thought that address looked sort of familar when I got the newsletter but didn't take a look until now. Cool, I know someone famous... lol Ok I did before but its not linux cool.
  4. This is just not good. I've been to lazy to play games on linux as I"m still stumbeling around in the dark on it. And there someone ;) has to go and show step by step directions on how to install it. Well there goes all my free time and reason for learning more about linux. It's time to waste me some badguys. BWAHAHAHA
  5. I have yet to see anyone type RTFM on this board since it started, guess we are more friendly here  I was about to say something similar Anon. We do seem to have a high patience level. Which is a good thing in case anyones wonderng. :)
  6. It's getting cold enough outside now, maybe I'll fire up Seti again and join the team. I have a little over 1600 units to throw in the pot. Why does it matter if its cold out you ask? Well with 3 machines with the cpu at 100% it gets damn hot in the apartment.
  7. Just a bit old and over rated though isn't it? So is grc.com though so perhaps it balances out?

    DSL router

Not that this can help but they're all software routers if you think about it. :) The 2 we were discussing, that you can't use due to the puxxeling distrust by someone of our favorite OS, use a dedicated computer and the software is a modified linux OS>

    DSL router

  I'll be the first to disagree. While SW is a good product the people behind it are, to say the least, lacking in people skills. Should you ever ask a question be prepared to be insulted, called names and general abuse. I prefer a fork from them called IPCop. Same idea better product and much nicer people involved in it. :)
  10. Keys?? We don't need no stinking keys.. Ok seriously when I scp from this box to another the only keys created were the ssh ones which happened automatically. Once that was done it was a simple matter of scp file and where. Much easier then setting up an ftp
  11. ssh if I understand it correctly can transfer files, I think its scp filename destination. But it's been a while since I've done it.
  12. At least those are asking for help on configuring the box and not asking how to attack someone? :?
  13. I dont know of a RH specific one. There are however several RH specific news groups out there. And seeing as MDK and RH are still similar enough asking RH questions here can get you answers also.
  14. You noticed that also? We seem to have gone from "How do I secure..." to "How can I strike back and be as bad as...: Human nature I guess, unfortinuatly.

    How to do this?

It's gkrellm airse . If it wasn't installed by default its on the cds, or you can get it from rpmfind.net or also directly from the authors website. Along with a ton of plugins and themes I might ass. oops sorry I misspelled your nick.
  16. Having a blond moment here. What if I don't have an autostart.sh execpt in .kde/Autostart and I tried that one and it doesn't cross over to Fluxbox. I tired creating my own .autostart.sh and also /Autostart/..autostart.sh in /.fluxbox with no luck. I also don't seem to have an .xinit or .xsession where I also read to try adding the commands to autostart apps and kill the powersave options? Like I said I'm having a blond moment so be nice.
  17. Like someone else said try ./configure make su to root make install There was no Readme or Install file that had directions though? Also if you can't get it to install have you considered Gaim?
  18. Well heck, it happened again last night. This morning when I hauled my butt out of bed eth0 was dead and I had to restart it.
  19. Ok now I'm confused (not that hard to do I know) Do you mean you're looking to be as bad as the cracker/hacker? Or do you mean you're looking to make your system very secure?
  20. Yep, and the extra "addon" Mandrake-user is looking for would not only defeat the purpose of a firewall but just incite the probe to a more serious level.
  21. Sweet thanks Afrosheen. It installed like a charm now.
  22. Well 1. not all of us are Americans and 2. How do you nonamericans say it. :)
  23. Then all you need to do is run a properly secured system and a good firewall etc. All you'll be doing by responding is running the risk of ticking them off and the probe can turn into a concentrated attack causing damage etc..
  24. Isn't this sort of a potato/potato, tomato/tomato kind of thing? Yes they like identical but pronounced differently and does it matter? Ok, I admit I'd like to know the "proper" pronunciation myself. :-)
  25. I hope not, although I dimly recall that there are one or two. But wouldn't that make you just as bad as them? In any case responding to probes/scans attempts just confirms your existance doesn't it, which would defeat the purpose of a firewall etc. If I understand you correctly. It's late in the day and I've had more then my fair share of winny users so I'm not running at full speed.
