  1. ClarkConnect might do it, but I am not sure how easy it is. I'd vote for Debian, as it's very stable and easy to keep up to date, and it's what I run, but it's not n00b friendly.
  2. I didn't notice until just now, but alpha 2 is out (7.0.0.2) and it has support for arena mode. I'm gonna try it out soon. If you guys use this, add me to your contact list! My tag is dolson.
  3. I just add in the mouse cursor after the fact in Gimp.
  4. If you want to help code stuff for Linux, you could join in on any of the existing games, and there are tons at icculus.org as well as sourceforge.net that need good coders.

  6. Do you know that you don't need to pipe catted output into grep? grep "model name" /proc/cpuinfo grep "cpu MHz" /proc/cpuinfo grep "bogomips" /proc/cpuinfo grep "cache size" /proc/cpuinfo and grep "MemTotal" /proc/meminfo grep "MemFree" /proc/meminfo grep "SwapTotal" /proc/meminfo grep "SwapFree" /proc/meminfo Both work. :)
  7. I'm not sure it could be related to the driver, since the same game works just fine in WineX. Yes, I still call it WineX. SoulSe, I'm not that familiar with the game, but does it use Direct3D or OpenGL in Windows/WineX? Also, could you test them both out with the sound disabled? It could be the something relating to sound support built into the Linux client.
  8. I'll go with what's recommended for sure, so a Linksys B or G router. I'll see if I can find Siemens card too. Thanks guys. Anyone else have recommendations?
  9. If you haven't reported this as a bug already, maybe you should... The dude who ported the game is in #icculus.org on freenode somethimes.
  10. A router isn't exactly a laptop, but ok. So no one knows?
  11. Hello, I need to get a wireless router and a PCMCIA card for my Debian laptop, as well as a wireless adaptor for my Xbox. What hardware do you recommend that isn't too expensive and will suffice for these needs? I don't run Windows at all, so it has to be fully Linux-compatible. Don't worry so much about the Xbox if you've never networked an Xbox before. I'm on a tight budget, and I'm in Canada, so if you know a good online store, let me know! Thanks in advance. 12. Let me know how it goes. It sure felt smoother to me, and I don't think it's a placebo effect... Try out UT2K3/UT2K4 too, if you have them.
  13. The XMMS/BMP issues are caused by the ck patches, which are included as a part of the nitro patches. I haven't found a solution yet, but gaming improves a lot using these patches.
