  1. Yet another time I fully agree with AussieJohn. When you get all those 9's it's the MBR. The OS should be just fine.
  2. google to "easy urpmi" and follow the directions , if you have kde up and running then after you set up easy urpmi go to MCC and run an update, this should fix any dependencies issues.
  3. I'm using the Cordless MX Duo and everything is working great!
  4. I fully agree with AussieJohn on this one. Perfect step by step!
  5. Actually I think it's play location then /mnt/cdrom or /dev/cdrom.
  6. Don't quote me on this (I'm at work now --- I'll check on it when I get home! ) But if I remember, if you go into KDE's Control Center there is a listing for Sound in there you can save your mixer settings and they will stay put. Like I said I'll have to check again when I get home tonight.
  7. This seems to be info --- not a question. So just posting to clear up "Unanswered posts".
  8. Have you set up your connection in MCC yet?
  9. Just cleaning out "Unanswered Posts" with this. Welcom Brit! Enjoy a great Linux Dist. !
  10. Try updating your sources in MCC that might do the trick!
  11. I do this same thing on my setup. I use KDE's clock on the toolbar for local time and a Superkaramba script on the desktop for UTC.
  12. A nice easy start to set up your URPMI is here ---- http://plf.zarb.org/~nanardon/
  13. Go to this topic and follow the Easy Urpmi link to set up MCC http://www.mandrakeusers.org/index.php?sho...wtopic=9896&hl=
  14. You can urpmi all those programs and Mandrake will take care of the dependencies. Or you can install from MCC.
  15. I'm running the .wav file with KDE's System Notifications and shutting down and/or rebooting from the KDE menu. I'll try creating that launcher and let you know how it went.
  16. I have a particular .wav I would like to play at shutdown. The only prob is that Mandrake shutsdown to quick and I only get a piece of the .wav. Is there a way to delay the shutdown so the whole .wav will play through?
  17. Make sure your updating from cooker if not I have found that MCC does not find any updates.
  18. menus-update from the command line

    D-Link 604

Is anyone running a D-Link 604 DSL Router? It says it supports Linux but I can't get the damn thing to work! Maybe I'm just a bit stupid and Can't seem to get the set up right. I got it! Problem solved!
  20. ncb --- www.linuxiso.org ---- has the 9.2 iso's
  21. Just out of curiosity do you have KDE set to save your current session when you reboot?
  22. It did the same thing to me! I don't have a fix but something that seems to work for me. I line my icons up at the top of my screen, right click the desktop and choose - Line up horizontally -- the I right click again and refresh the desktop. Ii seems to work but every once and a while I'll get 1 icon placed WAY outta line!
  23. You got the right instalation for easu app installs! Mandrake uses urpmi and there is a post for setting yours up here in the board! Very Easy! I can't find the post but here is the url ----- http://plf.zarb.org/~nanardon/ Just enter your version and follow the directions!
  24. One more stupid thought before it's techie time. After using MCC to config the connection (if you said yes to starting the conn. at boot) did you reboot? I always have to do this when I set up my connection with MCC. Although I haven't tried anything else --- I blame that on laziness!
