To rebuild your bootloader (next time) you can pop in your 2006 disk and reboot, when the gui comes up hit F1, at the prompt type RESCUE after that you will gat an option to reload the bootloader. then take out the cd and reboot. that's it and it will save you $91

the ndiswrapper rpm in the sources works fine for this card on my 2006 system -- try the rpm before you build a version from source

Gnome has a program for this. I can't remember what it's called but it's in the sources if you set them up. Just go to software install in MCC and type gnome in the search bar. Just looked it up, it's called "gnome-phone-manager"

it sounds like the kernel is trying to run the riva module which is by default for nvidia cards. this happens to me everytime I install the nvidia drivers i think you can use modprobe -r riva but check before trying -- it's been a while since i did that, or you can go into the kernel and uncheck the riva module and all will be well

after step 2 type ndiswrapper -m so it will load at boot

write a script and make it executable and put it in .kde/autostart/

if that kernel source was on the disk then the install kernel version matching that source is on the disk, go to mcc install and search for that kernel and install it to match the source

you need to get your source (that matches your current kernel) via urpmi after setting up your sources with Easy-Urpmi ( the link is at the top of the board!

no --- you said you set you ssid to wlan0 -- i think that's where the confusion was

your ssid or essid is not wlan0 unless you named it that in your router wlan0 is the name linux uses for your wireless like eth0 for an ethernet connection
