Your remaining commands are:

 

ndiswrapper -m
depmod -a
modprobe ndiswrapper
iwconfig
iwlist wlan0 scan

 

and there are a few more options, but this needs info from your wireless access point. The document is much better to follow, and post back if you have problems.

For DVD's just use kaffeine, but make sure libdvdcss is installed. Easy, use:

 

urpmi libdvdcss

 

and you should be set. Hope the ndiswrapper works out nice and easy shortly.

yeah totem is efault but when i try to play a dvd with totem it crashes

 

ok kaffeine does not work on gnome

 

ok i take it back i got back to the future part 3 playing but it lags my computer like really bad,is there a way to fix this? if not i will install kde and switch to it if i have too

I use KDE, but I'll check in gnome now to see if it works. I lack a DVD here at work, so may have to check when I get home and see what happens.

 

Once you've got your network working, check to see if there are any updates for your system and apply all of them. It could be this that's a problem.

im still unable to connect through my wireless network card but i am able to connect through a ethernet cable on my network which is how im connected now and i just tryed to do a update and its not letting me do a update i will take a screenshot of the error im getting and post it

 

Edit:i take it back it has started working,odd :huh:
