I just was playing around and downloaded firefox. WOW. What a great browser!! I'm using the noia theme, which loaded with out a hitch!

How do I get it to use tabs instaed of new windows?

instead of just double-clicking links like normal, right-click them and select Open in New Tab.

when you get used to it, you really love it. I love it.

or if you are like me who has a hand on the keyboard most of the time, use ctrl+click to open links in a new tab.

or install the mouse-gestures extension and make some funky gesture open the link in another tab. :)

ciao!

speed

I recently did some speed tests almost by accident

I 'swapped' radio keyb's aroiund with the connect button but it was still on the old keyb.

I had a 64 bit firefox running on a 64 bit kernel 2.6 in gentoo and a 32 bit opera running on a 2.6 mandrake ....

when I typed and pressed enter it was in both....

amazingly Opera was a lot faster than firefox on everything.

I hadnt realised how much but it was a massive difference ....

this could be my crap kernel compile .... etc. but it was the bleeding edge firefox...

want to lookup the meaning of a word?

type:

dict <wordyouwanttolookup>

in the address bar, and it automatically looks it up at dictionary.com

(there's a space between "dict" and the word)

Nope, got 1 more for ya

Install the Tabbrowser Extension and there's an option in there to open all links in a new tab

That's what I want! I use auto tabs with Konq. I'll check out the links for "stuff". The more stuff, the better!
