you probably needed to type a path as well From the repositories? And 6.1 is working OK?

I was able to use keyfuzz in an alternate manner and now SYSRQ has been mapped to F13 echo "458856 99" | keyfuzz -s -d/dev/input/event4 :D

I have an Apple keyboard which does not have a SYSRQ key so that RSEIUB cannot be used to reboot a locked system. In the past with Mandriva 2010.0, I used keyfuzz 0.2 to map the F13 key to SYSRQ with: ### keyfuzz file for i-rocks apple keyboard # map F13 to SYSRQ 458856 99 # map F14 to Scroll Lock 458857 70 # map F15 to Pause 458858 119 Well, my motherboard died recently and I found another and proceeded with a clean install of Mandriva 2010.1 using kernel 2.6.33.5-server-2mnb #1 SMP. Now keyfuzz no longer works for me and gives the following error: EVIOCGKEYCODE: Invalid argument I have never used a server kernel before. Could this be the problem?

I hope they are able to stay with the once per year release cycle. I think it would benefit everybody.

Well if you decide not to install updates then you could be missing out on some security related fixes and that could be important. On the other hand, I see your point. Any update has the potential to break something. Which repositories do you have enabled? Some of them are by their nature riskier than others.

I don't have a direct answer to your question, but 3D desktop effects are linked to compositing. I has similar quirkiness when using my NVidia card with KDE and Mandriva 2010.1. I disabled 3D desktop effects, compositing became disabled, and my problems went away. I guess KDE 4 is still not completely ready for prime time?

Try "switch to manual mirror selection" and try a different mirror.

If you are using KDE, the floppy should be visible along the left pane of the dolphin file manager.

As Speedball2 says, to rip an audio CD to the mp3 format using K3b you need lame and liblame0 installed from the PLF.

I would wait for 2010.1 to get out of beta stage before installing.
