  1. This doesn't fix your problem but you can also auto-login through your KDE Control Center, System, Login Manager.
  2. I've heard the .avi and it sounded the way cannonfodder described it. BTW, itti, I grew up in Germany, my mother was from Italy and I traveled all over Europe. I still have problems with American pronunciations. Americans like hard vowel sounds and I tend to make mine soft. I'm always having to ask my husband how to pronounce certain words. I get really frustrated when I go to purchase products with Italian names and Americans correct my pronunciation.
  3. I use KMail and I'm really happy with it. It's easy to set up, does use HTML if you chose, and has this nice little feature called "bounce" that let's you send back any mail you don't want as undeliverable. Comes in handy sometimes.
  4. I use Ark. You can just right click on any file and extract. It's as easy as using Winzip.

Any suggestions?
  6. Yeah but where can you get portsentry? I did a urpmi and it said it couldn't locate the package. I have all three disks too. :?
  7. There's a RPM for a firewall that comes with MDK 9 called shorewall that you might want to check out.
  8. There's an announcement here http://www.pclinuxonline.com/ about KDE3.0.4 being released. The comment under the story says that flash now works in Konqueror.
  9. I'm using it with Opera and don't have any problems.
  10. http://www.abisource.com/download/ If I remember correctly abiword wasn't in 8.2 either.
  11. The only thing I know of is exporting your data in Excel format and then using one of the Linux spreadsheet programs like KSpread. I used to work exclusively with Access databases and using Excel was my preferred way of looking at data anyway.
  12. I installed f-prot and even figured out how to use it. Don't laugh. These things don't come with instructions! Anyway, I was able to update my virus definitions and do a full system scan and came out clean.
  13. Oops! Guess we need to see about getting a spellchecker for the site? Hey Paul!!!
  14. Haha! So Amerikans cain't speel huh? :P Thanks for the help!!!

    cd player

I use KSCD and it plays my audio CDs that I made from MP3s in Windows. Which players have you tried?
  17. Has anyone tried installing any of these firewalls with MDK9? I've tried a few and ran into problems compiling. I used Bastille but as bluebeard pointed out it's no longer available. I installed the new one and wasn't impressed. I did go to www.grc.com and ran a check and everything came back fine but I'd like to find an interactive firewall.
  18. I'm downloading now! Unfortunately at only 80 KB/s but that's okay. I'll just let it go overnight.
