Yes latest versions of kde by mde have these panel settings again. Else you need to edit the kickerrc config by hand.

Open a console and type: dd if=XXXX.img of=/dev/fd0

Update to the latest KDE 3.5.1 version by mde. Or edit /home/your name/.kde/share/config/kickerrc and add the line: Transparent=true After that restart kicker (open a console and type: dcop kicker Panel restart )

You can choose soundcards in the application (if these support it). You can control the cards with a mixer. In kmix you can choose what card and then adjust the settings. (or in alsamixer use the -c option. Alsamixer -h for help)

Just use unrar from the command line. Go to the folder where the rar files are, type: unrar e <Type the first letter of the rar files and hit tab. Select the rar files with the lowest number: ea .rar or rar00>

What other players are that? If they use arts you could try a bigger cache. Open the kde control center, audio, soundsystem, buffer. If they don't use arts adjust the appropriate cache option.

Open a console nd type: urpmi mandriva-doc-Discovery-en. Urpmi will now download the rpm packges from the main mirror. If that doesn't work choose a different mirror.

The lsmod output shows alsa modules and not oss drivers. Open a console, log in as root and type: service alsa status. If alsa is not running type: service alsa start (do this with every sound application closed, including kmix in the systray). Now logout as root and type: alsamixer. Unmute every channel and you should have sound again.

Most providers use SIP. Yo can take an account for example by Sipgate and use aclient like Twinkle. http://www.sipgate.com/ http://www.twinklephone.com/ For call management there is Asterisk http://www.asterisk.org/

Make sure the urpmi sources are up to date. Open a console, login as root and type: urpmi.update -a

I think you mean how to do it in KDE. :) There is a program called xgamma that gets installed with xorg. Open a console and type: xgamma --help for the options.

OPen a console and type: lsmod. Post the output here (this will give a list of all loaded modules (drivers))

What happens if you modprobe the module? (open a console, login as root and type: modprobe 8139too ). If that is succesfull you can setup the connection by hand (without using the MCC)

I believe it´s a window stting. Rightclick the window, choose advanced or window setting or something like it (Am not at home right now) and uncheck ´show in taskbar´

You need to download the source rpm, you´ve downloaded the binary. :) (look for src in the name of the rpm (for example xxxxx.src.rpm)

Look in kcontrol, accesibbility, keyboard. I think that is what Aussiejohn means.

I don't think everybody has the same problem. Mandriva installed for example fine on my Sata drives. :) You don't need extra drivers because they come with the Linux kernel. Post your errors so we can help you.

Looks like a problem with tv :). Try --disable-tv (if there is such a thing. I don't have a list of the build options. Try ./configure --help and see if you can find something for tv)

Wihout surprises life would be boring.. :) Installed the devel packages and everything works again. Anyway thanks for the quick response: I post a bug report last night and when I wake up the next morning the problems are solved. :D
