Gul Dukat 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2006 http://www.mandriva.com/linux/2007 Can't seem to find it on any server and as an early-seeder I didn't get any email concerning the new torrents. So is this just a press-release or something? [moved from Portal News by spinynorman]
grendal 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2006 at the bottom of the page it says that it will be released in a couple of days. So I would think you'll get the email you are waiting for.
Gul Dukat 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2006 Strange, that they first announce it's its release then. But your probably right.

Yup generate mass hype.........which always backfires as the whines flock in due to the servers dying or something. Expect drama

Reiver_Fluffi 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2006 Mass hype? The best way to promote your product :P Not when it breaks your servers in the process.......:P http://www.linuxlookup.com/2006/sep/26/man...x_2007_released and below it says Update: "Mandriva Linux 2007 will be released in a couple of days" --Mandriva Mass hype? That's not an official Mandriva site, nor is it indicative of any hype. I was referring to the fact that there's documentation on the official Mandriva site.........

RVDowning 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2006 Well, I got an email when I went home for lunch saying that the torrents were there for early seeders. So, I'm happily downloading the torrent for the powerpack dvd ~ 4.3 gig.
aRTee 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2006 (edited) I'm downloading all torrents, this is the list atm: mandriva-discovery-2007-DVD.i586.torrent mandriva-discovery-2007-CD.i586.torrent mandriva-powerpack-2007-CD1-4.i586.torrent mandriva-powerpack-2007-DVD.i586.torrent mandriva-powerpack-2007-CD5-6.i586.torrent Don't use the computer much, don't download or upload anything, so why not help out a bit... :) In any case, it looks like in about 2 weeks or so 2007 will be released. Best update your cooker now, so you already have it! ;) edit: hmm, updating pointing to cooker seems already risky, in my case it wants to deinstall harddrake and kdebase and then some due to missing stuff....
