photoworks
Does anyone knows when we would be able to update to Mandriva using easyurpmi ?
Ixthusdan
You can do it now! Actually, you could always do it through the tree as soon as it was posted. Only the iso's are held back.

arctic
looks rather "unfriendly". did you experience any error-messages while upgrading? also... how did you do the upgrade procedure? please be as exact as possible (which environment did you work from? did you use mcc or console, did you boot in normal or failsafe mode, were some dependencies unsolved,...?) Ixthusdan
Please post full details as arctic says. What I do: I use MCC. I delete all sources. I manually veiw the trees via ftp in order to choose the correct path. This gives me the appropriate entry for adding media. I do not add any media other than upgrade media until after the os upgrade is accomplished. I have dsl and the upgrade took about 2 hours. After upgrading, I also log out and log back in. If the kernel is also upgrade, I reboot for the new kernel. All of this can also be done with in a terminal. But GUI is fun!
AussieJohn
I am with Arctic on this one. I too think it is busted and probably need reinstall. Â As lxthusdan says we need to know the exact procedure you carried out so we can guide you on how not to do it and so not have another disaster. Disasters seem to be a little off putting don't they. Â By the way, welcome to our MUB world. Enjoy yourself. Â Cheers. John.
photoworks
I got the mandriva distro cd on linux format and i updated my system, now it is working again. however, in mandrake control center, packages manager, i tried to add the ftp source for plf that i found via easyurpmi, but it does not work, i cannot retrieve the source. solarian
Try adding it through terminal (konsole) su as root and paste the easy-urpmi PLF line; should work
Ixthusdan
Also, if the source is busy or Mandriva can't connect at the moment, it won't add it.
adamw
Yeah, using the command line urpmi.addmedia is usually a good idea for adding media as it will give you more feedback on what's going wrong than using the graphical one in rpmdrake.
solarian
Say, Adam, has Mandriva ever considered adding a live konsole feedback field to MCC? I think that would be a great feature, whatever you do in MCC - always seeing what's happening slightly beneath the GUI. Could be optionally hidden from view. adamw
I thought there was one already? Er. Have to check that when I get home. I really don't often use MCC.
spinynorman
In 10.0 at least, you can choose to Display Logs on the Options Menu in MCC...
