  1. Plus you can translate articles, write in the wiki etc. Anything which doesn't require money. Paying is not the only way to give something back to Mandriva.
  2. There was qt-gtk engine but I don't know if it's still maintained. Didn't work for me under PCLinuxOS. And it's not just for the fonts it can use KDE theme settings as well. But if you just want to use the font settings then I'm sure you can set what fonts to use in the Gnome Control Center.
  3. If you search at the club forum you'll surely find a script which does that.. but they work on Linux only. For windows you probably should try UltraISO. Note I've never tried it myself just heard some positive reaction about it.
  4. You should make a hdlist.cz file which contains info about the packages. You should look at the genhdlist command to do that. There are maybe other requirements as well but this is what I know about.
  5. I looked in my package manager and there are more xsreensaver packages: Plus plf has another xsreensaver-gl and xsreensaver-matrix. Probably you should add more sources or change mirrors.
  6. Remove all the MDE stuff first and then try the upgrade again.
  7. Both links gives 404 to me tyme.
  8. You can choose KDM loginmanager in the MCC under the system tab. If it's not listed there then it's most likely not installed.
  9. You have to turn off 3D effects to make KDE themeable. Compiz (the window manager which makes the 3D effects) does not support theming. You can change the color of the window border but that's all. I could do that but only in GNOME. Change the command of the icon to kdesu rpmdrake That will ask for the password and then launch the software installer.
  10. Ok If you read Adam's post in this thread you can read that there's no more Community tree anymore. So easyurpmi and smarturpmi is already setup as it should be except that they don't show updates and plf repos for 2007.
  11. As I wrote in my previous post just before yours, only the community tree is opened publicly. Hence the settings in easyurpmi and smart-urpmi. The official tree is only a link to the community tree. Once the official tree opens up (if it opens up) they will update easyurpmi and smart-urpmi I'm sure.
  12. Are there separate 64 bit ISOs? Since there are dual-arch DVDs I'm not sure.
  13. Then something was wrong at your machine. I have Sempron 2800, 512 MB, GeForce6200 and the thing flies. I have read people with a GeForce 2 saying the same.
  14. OK so they just opened the community tree then. neddie: The difference between community and official should be that the community tree is not frozen and this: ftp://gd.tuwien.ac.at/pub/linux/Mandriva/devel/2007.0/i586/media/ ftp://gd.tuwien.ac.at/pub/linux/Mandriva/official/2007.0/i586/media/ But since the 2007.0 directory is only a link to the 2007.0 directory in the devel tree, as Mhn noticed, currently there's no difference. Cooker is also under the devel dir: ftp://gd.tuwien.ac.at/pub/linux/Mandriva/devel/cooker
  15. Install the drivers from plf. You can use XGL with them. With the next 9*** series you can use AIGLX too.
  16. Google opened a new search page called code search. It already indexed millions of lines code from public internet servers such as SourceForge or Google Code. sources: vnunet.com and hup.hu
  17. 2006 or 2006 community? 2006. The community always points to the devel tree. And yes there is a release subdir under main but there's also a reconfig.urpmi file which I believe helps urpmi to find the release dir under main. I tried to use the GUI to add update_source during install and later with rpmdrake but I coudn't . I noticed that on the servers I tried, the hdlist.cz file was screwed so I used the synthesis.hdlist.cz file so it took as a source at least but didn't installed the updates. Rpmdrake showed no updates at all. So I thought I try smart. Wobo had a really positive impression about it in the club forum. And it worked. It even has an update utility ksmsrtray which is blinking if you have updates. And now all the updates are installed.
  18. I used the 2006 lines generated by easyurpmi. I just replaced 2006.0 with 2007.0 in the url and it works.
  19. Anyone knows a repo where there are flash and java packages can be found. They are not in plf and I'm in a lazy mood to install them in the ususal way.
  20. Game developers or rather game studios\manufacturers will change their mind on this in one case: if it worths it financially. So there's no point signing this petition. Rather buy a game which runs on Linux.
  21. Some of you who read in the forum already know but for those who didn't notice it yet, Mandriva 2007 is out. And as a pleasant surprise, it can be downloaded from now. No 4-6 weeks waiting period. You can read the announcement here and download it from here. Before installing, it's worth reading through the Errata and the Release Notes.
  22. After a year and a long testing phase, Slackware 11 is out. You can read the official announcement here. Read the Changelog here and download it from here.
  23. FC6 pre-release images can be downloaded from here: http://torrent.fedoraproject.org/. Changes and other information in the announcement. source: hup.hu
  24. Maybe we should change the banner text to something like this: Mandrivausers.org - The UNOFFICIAL Mandriva support forum where our users feel @ /home
  25. In this case you should try to start then from the command line. Programs usually write their error messages there. If you still don't understand why they are not launching post those error nessages here.
