juK vs. amaroK

Well, my vote goes to juK. Easier to use and set up, and has a much cleaner interface.

amaroK. I did not have to set it up, since SuSe includes it by default and I find the interface easier than JuK, I especially like the shortcuts (Win/Tux key + other key) for stop, play, forward, backward, ...

By the way, anyone hear about an upcoming amaroK version that will be able to play video (!) and organize virtually all of your media??

I used to like Juk best but than got trouble witth arts (mplayer wouldn't work with it). Juk can't live without it so know I'm using Amarok and gstreamer. It's nice and I like the coverart and the links to amazon.com. Pity the tag information guessing from musicbrainz doesn't work with the Mandrake version.

I like XMMS and MPlayer...haven't liked MPlayer much since I updated it though...I liked the old version without the controls :P

No, according to Kde.org news, there are no plans for video playing in amaroK. But I know the new version *will* be able to fetch lyrics for the songs you are playing :)

Careful there - iTunes can not be grouped with WMP. iTunes rocks.

iTunes isn't bloated. It's cool, rhythmbox is based on it (rhythmbox isn't as good, though). For streaming audio and such - playlist management is easier on iTunes and its ilk.

Started out with JuK, then arts broke, surprise surprise. That pretty much ended JuK's career on my computer. AmaroK is awsome!

The new features and ease of it is just getting better and better. Its so much better than anything I ever found on Windows!! :)
