liquidzoo
You can use the --noclean option for urpmi and the rpms will be stored somewhere in /var/lib
Gowator
urpmi --noclean there is also an urpmi.cnf in /etc/urpmi according to man urpmi.cnf this only gives pre-clean, post-clean and clean options and default is post-clean A workaround is if installing from GUI to deliberately put in a error (like no key) and then copy /var/cache/urpmi
scoopy
Or for people like me (that always seems to have syntax problems trying command line stuff) ... I like to download the RPMs I want to a folder named "RPMS" in my /home directory. I also add this as a local files source in Software Media Manager and then install using the GUI "Install Software" (otherwise known as... RPM Drake) Burn 'em to a disc and it is better than the club's CD 4... cause it got the programs you want. :D Only major drawback is sometimes figuring out those depends issues. SwiftDeath
If you look at the RPM Faq on your site it tells you how to do this.
Guest arunvragh
I do it this way. Maybe not perfect but works. I am not very good at command line. So I open the software media manager after I add a source, click on edit and copy the address, usually ftp://ftp.....es/** whatever. In rpmdrake (Install software), I select the packages and note down the packages listed as dependencies and the package I select. I cancel. Go to the site, already copied, using my browser and click on each of the packages mentioned and download them one by one. It takes the same time as updating thru urpmi. I save them in a folder called RPMS1 etc and add that to my sources in software media manager under Local files. I burn them on a disk after grouping them for future use. Hope that helps
