ImBatman Posted June 16, 2004 Report Share Posted June 16, 2004 Hi everyone I have seen some screenshots of peoples desktops that include ¨system monitoring guages¨ embedded on the desktop - either that or they are transparent to appear that way. They are things like RAM, CPU usage, etc. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a selection of these programs. nggalai Posted June 16, 2004 Report Share Posted June 16, 2004 Most of those programs will require you to install and configure lm_sensors. Did so yesterday to get wmgtemp up and running. It's not too difficult, albeit the configuration instructions provided by sensors-detect might be a tad misleading if you're using kernels 2.6.x. tyme Posted June 16, 2004 Report Share Posted June 16, 2004 Most of those programs will require you to install and configure lm_sensors. only if you want to measure cpu temperature, case temperature, or fan speeds (and a few other things). cpu usage, ram usage, hard drive usage, etc. can all be obtained w/o lm_sensors.
