scoopy
Can't these kids do something useful with their talents? Unfortunately... IT does not take any talent to hack a php-nuke site. It is probably all these script kiddies can do... as it is too easy to find a pass cracker (thru google) and gain admin access to these sites. Reminds me, There are ways to secure a php nuke site more, must read up some. I am glad PCLO did not lose anything this time. PS: go get em' cybrjackle ! jlc
how many times has this happened? why doesn't tex switch if it's common happenings w/ phpnuke? Use something cool like invision board! :P
DragonMage
how many times has this happened? why doesn't tex switch if it's common happenings w/ phpnuke? Use something cool like invision board! :P Invision board doesn't really work in pclinuxonline case because it is basically a news/portal page. The board is added later but the function is primarily the same as before. Yeah.. I think it should be time that the developers of pclinuxonline (possibly thedarb and yama since texstar is probably too busy with pclinuxos) to consider another portal system if pclinuxonline is hacked every couple of months. Ghil Vertefeuille
or should make a new site, in the worst case..
aRTee
I did notice at least one comment disappeared. Noticed because I made it.... :) Anyway, so yes, some stuff did get lost. And yes, they should do something about this.
Guest anon
Invision board doesn't really work in pclinuxonline case because it is basically a news/portal page. The board is added later but the function is primarily the same as before. Invision board comes with a news/portal add on, that what were using for our home page. spiedra
This is really lame. A bunch a talentless punk kids. 2nd rate hackers.
scoopy
I can't speak for Tex, but I would suppose invision is not an option, because it is not GPL'd. I personnally chose to use phpnuke myself (knowing its faults) was because it is among the most popular content management systems out there, and is well documented and developed. It had the features and addons I wanted to use and it was kind of easy for me to implement and hack to my liking. Oh... and the biggest reason... It's FREE. But, it is kind of like viruses and windows... that being more popular and well known, it has become the same with those script kiddies. Also note, other systems not immune from being hacked, much the same as Linux is not virus free. Edited April 7, 2004 by scoopy
ramfree17
I wonder what the fun part is to hack tex's site. Can't these kids do something useful with their talents? different people will have different answers. what is the fun in hanging out in linux boards like this? what is fun in going to a beach and spending the whole day getting sunburned? what is the fun in working to get money when you earn so little? what fun is.. well you get my point. in a world of democracy, there will always exist a display of anarchy. that is just the way we humans think. ciao! lrsach01
Things get even more interesting. I tried the pclinuxonline site this morning and was redirected to a lovely porn site. Anal sex is NOT something I really want to see at 7 AM. Especially at work.
aRTee
Does anyone know where/how to contact Yama, theDarb or Texstar? This time, there is a trojan sent in html. And next to that, a porn portal gets opened, along with two other seemingly empty windows Do NOT open pclo when on MSwindows without proper protection...!!! This is really not funny!
