  1. im with 83mercedes with this one. i have just launched throne of darkness (albeit without sound) and have played the saved games. not that i am interested in the game, i was just testing the wine cvs installation with one of the games installed by my brother. :) ciao!
  2. me too. actually aru told me these a few weeks ago because he once said that gurus dont mingle with mere mortals. and of course he was wrong ciao!

ohhh, i thought it was included since all of your screenshots have it. *now do i feel stupid* in the theme file it is probably drawing the root window all blue. Just edit the theme file, ie. comment out or delete the line at the end which sets the background. Most Pek themes I have seen don't set the background. Themers are getting away from that because most people want to set their own background (did you check out the theme + wallpaper menu thing here? only in this theme or in any theme? have you checked out my themes?! what do you think? i still havent checkedout any of your themes as i dont visit this board often when im at home (dialup connection sucks and i cant reply since somehow i always get booted out (but my username is logged-in). i figured ill try with the other themes first and if everything works out then ill try yours (so if i dont like it its not because of your theme :#:). anyway, are you interested in doing a little tutorial on how to establish a pekwm desktop that looks like your screenshots? ciao!

joe, i have downloaded lots of themes in the link sites including pekdon's configuration files. however why doesnt i have the bar at the bottom with the icons? what do i have to install or configure to have that? also, after setting the theme to the appropriate directory in config (i.e ~/.pekwm/themes/flx-blue), the screen becomes all blue but i cant access the right-click button anymore to launch the menu. this is getting frustrating. ciao!
  6. if you are going to start building from source (like from a CVS view), learn to use checkinstall so you are still adding a rpm package to your system. doing it by that route means you are not muddling your system too much since you could use rpm -e to remove it (well most of the time). ciao!
  7. cooker developers usually take a break after a release. give them a a week or two to wind down before they begin addressing new issues. :) ciao!
  8. everyone is important here. :) as for the other distro forum, i think it got scrapped. post your questions in the most relevant forum (of course that excludes the "installing mandrake"forum" :mystilol:) or else put it in everything linux. ciao!
  9. that's good, the only thing i have to watch out for is the connection. :( really? i compiled rox before i left for finland (around 4 months ago). i guess i should spend less time with trying to install gnucash and start upgrading my system (but with 9.1 on the way, maybe its prudent to just wait). :) ciao!
  10. nevermind two-pane view, all i want is to be able to drag and drop files between two rox windows (to move or to copy them). ciao!
  11. hahaha, next time you might want to check what freshmeat has to say about it. freshmeat.net, for the unintiated, is the almighty record keeper of OSS projects (well not exclusively OSS but thats another point). kinda like google. :#: ill try what i can with pekwm tonight (assuming i can get some themes thru my hernia-infested,turtle-fast prepaid dialup connection :( ) ciao!
  12. does this mean that hugerobot didnt have a previous mdk release that worked for him? that's sad. anyway, may you find linux nirvana in redhat. ciao!
  13. mail: sylpheed (and i dont think ill change it for a long time) browser: Opera and phoenix (opera logs me off at this site which is the only thing that i visit regularly) edit: vim, nedit, scite (folding is really neat when im mucking with xml files) filer: mc, rox wm: fluxbox (pekwm really looks tempting thanks to joehill) emelFM looks promising but i didnt get to configuring it. ciao!
  14. not that i can take advantage of it now but why not put it up temporarily to help ease the burden on the swamped mirrors? just an idea. :) ciao!
  15. so i dont drag this thread to offtopicness, my reply is in -> http://mandrakeusers.org/viewtopic.php?p=27720 ciao!
  16. is that one technically correct? :? :#: ciao!
  17. that's easy, uninstall mozilla and install phoenix if you only want the browser. :#: ciao!
  18. come to think of it, shouldnt people share it in the giFT network? it only makes sense to do so and it helps beef up the size of the network. :) ciao!
  19. i assume this release will become another "best for some, worst for some, and works for the majority". :) ciao!
  20. i dont know about the new packages but for the updates, just consider all bugfixes to all packages that happened after 9.0 was released and at least 3 days before 9.1rc3 went final. im just pulling figures out of my head but the amount of updates in that timeframe is not trivial. plus i hear 9.1 has new support for zeroconf, WiFi, and some other things. not that i need those but then they are just icing on the cake. :) ciao!
  21. mandrake is a bleeding-edge distro. not much fun in being bleeding-edge when you are one release behind. :#: and most are just after the updated and new packages. i for one am interested in what fruits the labors of the cooker development team has conjured. ciao!
  22. as long as the board wont be unusable. :) i wish i havent cutoff my broadband. its a good thing one of the local LUG member sells them in their family business. ciao!
  23. thats understandable and with slackware's new release rest assured that majority or ftp sites mirroring at least one of the two will be swamped with request for about 2 to 3 weeks. :) ciao!
  24. have anybody tried this update? like somebody said (bvc?) updating glibc is often harder than it seems as its an integral part of the system. ciao!
  25. *drooling* it looks terribly delicious. :) ciao!
