  1. ok, thanks :) I'd tried with the SuSe rpms and errors pop up.
  2. Good thing that I'm a club member :D So the membership isn't a waste :)
  3. I got a connection almost similar as yours (it's a SB5100). The easiest way to solve this problem is to drop the usb and connect the modem through the net-card in your computer, then you're on the internet right away :). Also I read somewhere that using usb uses a little amount of resources to use, so in the other end you'll free some resources this way. My simple but usefull method :) .:=The AI Dude=:.
  4. I was wondering if there are any diffrences on RPMs for the diffrent distros? I found some SuSe RPMs will there be any complication to run them on Mandrake? .:=The AI Dude=:.
  5. Thanks aRtree :), but a solved the problem, just alittle bit diffrent. It's somewhere in another thread. I'll appriciate for your help anyway :) .:=The AI Dude=:.
  6. Hehehehe....I knew I got flamed for this ...but I couldn't help it, it's like dropping a cat from the 10th floor to see if its landing on its feed. Heh, I don't have anything against Gnome. It was meant as a joke :)
  7. You can just use kde like the rest of us normal people runs and take cover

Driver "nvidia", Load "glx" then :wq> init 5 tested it in the konsole glxgears .:=The AI Dude=:.
  9. su <password> init 3 sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6111-pkg1.run --add-this-kernel now a new file appear called NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6111.pkg1-custom.run (or something, it's in the same directory) sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6111.pkg1-custom.run (you'l need the source kernel to do this)
  10. I can help with, Danish to English or English to danish......which one do you prefer?
  11. Hmmmm....that bug could discurage people who want's to try linux (mandrake and still having M$ on their machine IMHO. Nice to know that the other bug have been taking care of, thanks :) I've been to busy trying installing Nvidia driver 6111.....no luck what so ever.

  13. When I was a winXP user I used O&O and it was the best defrag I've ever tried (and I've tried alot). So I think they are serious about this project.
  14. I can't remember where I found it, but there is a place with rpm Xorg 6.7.99 and something which works well with Mandrake that I've been using with no problems. I'll get back to you when I find it. Edit: Found the place but they upgraded them to Xorg 6.8 :o It was here they had it: ftp://mandrake.contactel.cz/people/svetlj...roken/10.0/RPMS
  15. It was me, but I havn't done it yet. I've also that irritation "can't shot down" proprely bug. Also if you init 3 the screen is a mess!
  16. Anyone found the kernel source for the new kernel (2.6.8.1-8mdksmp)? Aren't mandrake releasing it with the rc1 or am I needing of a pair of glasses....
  17. Downloaded.....installed...using it now :) So far: 1 installing errors - libwxgt2.5_1-2.5.1-5.mdk.i586 I'm gonna report that. Impression: Niiiiiiiiice! It's really faster than 10.0 ! Edit: I'll gonna try to download and burn CD 1 to see if it's making any diffrence on the libwxgt error. bugs: Sound turn to 0 at every startup
  18. My Avatar I made myself in PSP8....I'm still learning how to use Gimp so when I get as good to gimp as I'm with PSP8 i'll start making real cool stuff.
  19. Started to download now....estimated time ~13 hours perhaps I should invest in a faster connection.
  20. Very simplistic, Cyberjackle I guess you'll bought a new graphic-card to run that one :P
  21. It's all about taste, artic :deal: Got Xorg 6.8 myself, though I don't use the transparent stuff, but it looks cool! Such options could lure graphic-whores away from windows to linux. It's all about choices IMHO. I'm myself a bit of a graphic-whore :P
