I guess you were su while trying? I don't have Star Office :unsure: but what I understand is that while star office is unpacking and installing itself it should also install java? But it refuse to do so? The language barrier strikes again :P

Java = http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html Choose 'J2SE v 1.4.2_05 JRE ' and pick under linux the rpm. Then you are sure that Java is install :)

Not what I know of. Falcon's Eye runs perfect also the oblicatory games that comes with kde runs without problems. I did a clean install of mdk 10.1 (again again), the same error is still there but I manage to start dominions up....weird.

The Xfree will not be removed, Xorg will be added. Check if Xorg.conf have the same in it as your Xfree. Then add ~ in the back of xfree. (the xfree config file that is) That should do it. But I recommend (as other would so, I believe) to make a clean install with 10.1 community(rc2).

Well I had no sound while playing CDs in the Cd-rom and found out that there was no analog connection from my CD-rom and I thought okay it's easy done, but to my big surprise there was no place on my Soundcard or motherboard to plug in the analog from the CD-rom :o :o :o 1. Is there a plugin to xmms that makes it run through digital? 2. I got another option, I have an old Soundblaster 16 I could use for the purpose. Is there a giude how to setup 2 soundcards on Mandrake 10? And also how to setup the diffrent programs to choose which soundcard they should use. .:=The AI Dude=:.

Man, you're good with desktop screenshots and all, bvc. It's really nice and it could properly get a kde fan to switch to gnome :D Ever thought about making some kde stuff?

It's was the packaging I was reffering to when saying conflicting :), sorry I'll try to be more specific anotther time :) I'm running 10.1 new installation, totally clean. Running kde 3.2.3 my keyboard works perfect, no problem But when I did the kde 3.3 install my keyboard blew. Also tried with clean install with only gnome on my computer and then downloading the rpms to see if it made any diffrence, but no. Converted my lil sis. She used win Me but she get tired of it allways crashing and other malfunction, so I installed mandrake Linux on her machine. She uses PCs only to write letters, poems, Email and such.

It's exactly the same problem I got as the one the link describe. The problem is it's not NVN but Dominions 2 I get the error with. The Error didn't occured in mdk 10.0 but getting it in mdk 10.1 I'll try to copy all the file from the CD to the harddisc as they described in the link and see what's happening. .:=The AI Dude=:.

cordless keyboards doesn't work with kde 3.3 rpms is one big bug (for me that is) But that could be because the kde 3.3 rpms are conflicting with eachother. Also some minor bugs like missing text and icons, some of the application doesn't work. But again it could be the confliction issue.
