Hi, I've recently installed "Thor" and after that "Odin" on one of my test-configurations. I know about "drakconnect" being broken, and herein is my problem. In my network I'm using static IP-adresses, but with "Thor" and "Odin" I can't seem to get my internet-connection on. The problem is, that it doesn't store/remember my DNS-adresses nor my gateway. It only stores the Ip-adress for this specific configuration and it's subnet. Is there a workaround for this or any other solution for that matter? I've been trying to do a ftp-install, hoping this would be a solution, but I can't seem to find a ftp-iso on any of the mirrors. I hope someone found a solution and could help me out here. I know this bug exists and reported it to Bugzilla, likewise. Thanks in advance.

I think there's communication-error, but what I meant was: kwrite /etc/X11/xorg.conf And "Copy and Paste" the outcome here....

[root@localhost ~]# etc/X11/xorg.conf bash: etc/X11/xorg.conf: No such file or directory You should open the file with "Kwrite" for instance, and the the directorie is /etc/X11/xorg.conf and not etc/X11/xorg.cong

That must be it. I couldn't find them in the FC5 repos.

Are you sure? I can't seem to find it in my yum.repos.

Great review Arctic, at least for me. I never tried Arch, but I'm still in doubt whether to try it or not. It looks like a distro I would feel comfortable with. But I think I still need some convincing, I think.

I don't know how to tell what version I'm running of k9copy. It won't even load up, so I can't click "About k9copy". Is there another way to tell? rpm -q k9copy As for those crashes, I have no answer for your problem, but K9copy is running oke here. So I'm a little lost here at your problem. Just for the record, did you update your KDE with for example SoS-sources?

I'm having no problem with K9copy here what so ever. Just being curious, what version are you running? I'm running 1.0.4-1.2006mcnl

K9copy works fine here. Super for shrinking DVS's. But you can also try DVDshrink. It's not the same as the Windows-version and it is in the urpmi-sources.

At first you must make it executable, with chmod + x ati-driver.run and then you can execute it with ./atidriver.run. Of course, you need to login as root. ;)

Had the same problem using Xfce and MDV on one of my pcs. So I switched to emelfm. Think it is a common problem of Xfce/MDV. Because I read on other boards about the same problem.

Nope. $ rpm -qa | grep -i "real" RealPlayer-10.0.5.756-20050513 I recommend running 'alsaconf'. Oke, it was just a thought.

Did you also install real-codecs? Maybe this could be the problem with "laiback".

Did you install mplayer and mplayerplugin with "urpmi"?

I've used the ATi-drivers from there site and the ones from the urpmi-sources, but the ATi-drivers from the ATi-site give much better performance. But there a little bit more difficult to install. With MDV that is. I can't give you the exact numbers anymore, because I'm using FC5 now and make use of the Livna-supplied ATi-drivers. :P
