Apr 3 16:18:39 localhost klogd: iwl3945 0000:02:00.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 16 (level, low) -> IRQ 16 Any one got ideas of how to fix this... It is on an ASUS... I have tried I think every thing possible. except reinstalling completely..
  3. Dont know what type, Fingerprint detection under the bois? Fingerprint reader on the computer libfprint for Fingerprint detection. Stopping os being overvritten.. na not that i can think of.. unless you have bois password and no boot off CD. Buy a kingston lock for the laptop they have siren types. Set up ssh so you can access when the computer is powered up on the network.. Then you can turn the CAM on hehehe.. You could write a script that when it connects it auto checks a site for you and if it has a bit set,(Page uploaded) it takes a photo every 15 sec then uploads to a site and trys to send email. You could pass it through TOR so if they have port 80 closed you still get the feed..
  4. and i can see it in lspci. 00:08.0 Ethernet controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88w8335 [Libertas] 802.11b/g Wireless (rev 03) from the other site try this If yours does not list a device present, then you may need to explicitly instruct it to use the driver using this command: ndiswrapper -a devid mrv8335 Replace "devid" with the PCI ID or the USB ID of your card, in the form XXXX:XXXX. To get those numbers, run the command lspci -n (for PCI cards) we nee to find the full dev id of your card. lspic -nn the nn gives the number and name. then type the command replacing the devid... su ndiswrapper -a devid mrv8335 modprobe ndiswrapper iwconfig try that.. getting late now here i will try to be about..
  5. looks like your database is not correct go to this page and select the defaults for your computer then copy the lines into the terminal. Using su of course https://mandrivausers.org/easyurpmi/index.php so once you have gone to the page you will end up with 4 lines like this urpmi.addmedia main http://distrib-coffee.ipsl.jussieu.fr/pub/...ia/main/release with media_info/hdlist.cz cut each full line starts with urpmi ends with hdlist.cz open terminal Konsole, type su, type in password, paste line press enter and wait.. may take a while each line. If you have a slow connection you may want the compressed version of this info it was a little check box before the last click. Press back. and try with the compressed selected. good luck once you have done these four you will be able to try the other lines again. Looks like you did exactly what you were meant to do. Your doing well as a starter.. the lspci was correct but i'm not sure what greg was looking for.. Also reading it further down the list the ndiswrapper is installed but it cannot see your device. and i can see it in lspci. 00:08.0 Ethernet controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88w8335 [Libertas] 802.11b/g Wireless (rev 03) This is the same card as the webpage we pointed you to..
  6. I will try to help further today but i will be leaving the office in the next 30 Mins.. And not sure if i will actually get to this post later today.. I will read it tomorrow and help further if you need... Regards..
  7. I got it to work by downloading the source rpm then extracted the source file then used these options to get it to work correctly ./configure --with-ldap --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc --localstatedir=/var --with-ssldir=/etc/ssl/dovecot then make then make install LDAP used to be by default but it is not anymore so maybe they missed the new option. Just in case someone else has a 4hour headache like me.. [moved from Software by spinynorman]
  8. to get the file from the command line type wget http://www.marvell.com/drivers/upload/MV-S800374-00.zip to unzip the file unzip MV-S800374-00.zip remember that Unixes are very case sensitive.
  9. AHH real new.. ok Start menu System terminals terminal program OR goto Start Run Command now type in konsole Now type in su now type the root or administrator password when it prompts for it. Now you can do all those commands above. No problem being new we all were one day..
  10. Not done it before but this is the start based on what i have read. based on this https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/...etgear_WG311_v3 open a console type su type in your root password urpmi -v ndiswrapper now get your file from http://www.marvell.com/drivers/upload/MV-S800374-00.zip unzip it to a directory and go to that directory in the console still as root cd Inf/WinXP_2K ndiswrapper -i mrv8335.inf check if it is installed ndiswrapper -l now you can try this modprobe ndiswrapper now iwconfig If iwconfig lists a "wlan0" network interface with a whole bunch of details, then it worked. then they say try this so it works on start up. ndiswrapper -m Give that a try..
  11. If you are trying to get real USB and sharing between the two sessions on the same box look at VMware. The USB is only available if you have the guest additions on Virtual Box. But the virtual box is fine if you need a system to test on your network with out all the USB devices.
  12. Had this happen before it had to do with a capacitor on the mother board being old and "Drying out", The opposite can occur also with an older board. Start thinking about a new computer.
  13. Sounds to me like a kaffine problem, you have to look at what cased the signal event to cause the decorator to crash.
