How to change driver after changing video card?

I plan to install a different AGP video card in my desktop because I want a card with s-video output as well as output for my monitor. The new card is from ATI and will need a different driver than my current nvidea card. I'm guessing I won't have any X11 capability until I have configured X11 for the new card. Is there some console mode tool I can use to identify the new card and configure X11?

I did that awhile ago and the system found the new card on the next boot and setup the drivers for it then booted into X11.

I have since reinstalled the Nvidia card as the ATI/Radeon drivers for older AGP cards are even worse than those for Nvidia cards.

After installing the new AGP video card I booted the computer. As expected, X failed to load, but I had the option to make some configuration changes, apparently using XFdrake. I wonder if there's a console mode version of the entire MLCC?
