Steve Scrimpshire
I would like to get a TV tuner card for my box and I am running 9.2. Can anyone recommend a/some TV tuner card(s) that they know work in MDK 9.2? Thanks. Also, using a TV tuner card, would I be able to plug my cable connection directly into it to capture/record TV shows from Comcast cable? (I'm also on Comcast high speed internet and have Comcast cable TV...not digital....and an extra jack in this room).

Look here in your Mandrake Boxen: /usr/src/linux/Documentation/video4linux/bttv/CARDLIST for supported cards. Anything that supports bttv will work. I have an AverMedia TVPhone98 and it works great for everything EXCEPT recording. (I'm watching basketball on TBS in a window as I type.) I have the cable split with one feed to my cable modem and the other to my TV card. For reallly serious TV use and recording, consider getting the Hauppauge PVR-250 for about $149-199. http://www.hauppauge.com/html/wintvpvr250_...0_datasheet.htm There is a PVR-350 but all you really get is FM radio, and you need to run the video out to a TV set. http://www.hauppauge.com/html/wintvpvr350_...0_datasheet.htm Here is a PVR Hardware Database http://pvrhw.goldfish.org/tiki-pvrhwdb.php Here is a great Video Resource for Linux http://www.exploits.org/v4l/ Also look at MythTV http://www.mythtv.org/index.php or TVTime http://tvtime.sourceforge.net/ You obviously tweaked my hotspot with Video! I'm getting a PVR-250 as soon as I get back to work! Tim
