derxen
I can imagine that they put all suspect drives on the list and then move those over that they get reports about that they don't have the problem. But I checked when I first heard about this problem, and the 8521B had already been mentioned as okay to the thread over at the Club. Anyway, I am glad it still works. But it will be my last LG. derxen
DOlson
Anyway, I am glad it still works. But it will be my last LG. That's probably the best policy. LG said they don't support Linux, so in my opinion, f*** 'em.
kurtjo
I have installed 9.2 RC2 and final release both on a system that uses a GCE-8480B with no damage whatsoever and was able to set it up as a scsi device for xcdroast.
Setras
kurtjo, any idea what firmware version you have in your LG? And it is HL-DT-ST CD-RW GCE- 8480B, right? Just asking to make sure if it's safe to install Mandrake on my machine, don't really have money for a new drive... Setras
