How to shut down the pc?

After I end the session LINUX goes to the console:

What it thit proper way of shown down the computer? Is it safe cut the power off?

You can do it from a spetial logout button in your desktop manager (KDE, Gnome...) or type this as root:

shutdown -h now

 

-h means halt

now performs the command (shutdown & its options) right now

 

for more info on shutdown command type 'man shutdown' in console
