fahd
Hi linux fans! I don't know if some body has noticed that sometimes konqueror goes corrupted, and I solve this problem by deleting /tmp or ~/.kde contents. I am sure that, this is not the correct solution, but I have not any idea to run konqueror. Thanks a lot. Fahd
arctic
Could you define "corrupted" a bit? I cannot really figure out what specific problem you are experiencing. With removing the .kde and .tmp folder, you simply reset KDE and thus Konq to its original settings.
fahd
Simply konqueror does not run when click the konqueror icon( or trying to run it from within a console).
daniewicz
Are there any error messages when you run konqueror from the console?
arctic
Please open a terminal when this happens and run top It will list all running processes on your box. Is Konqueror still listed as a running process for your current user when it refuses to pop up or ain't there any Konqueror related entry at all? Gowator
Are there any error messages when you run konqueror from the console? Also when it runs, what plug-ins do you have installed? (you can check in the settings/configure konq then go down to plugins) do a check for new ones then check on the plugin's tab. If this causes a crash post the output from the terminal (well do anyway)
scarecrow
Or better, run it through strace and pipe the debugger output to a file rather than the screen ( strace -o file konqueror ).
fahd
Or better, run it through strace and pipe the debugger output to a file rather than the screen ( strace -o file konqueror ). This weird konqueror error happens after using crossweaver, I mean installing windows-based application. So what is the relationship between konqueror and codeweaver's product, crossover. This happens only once, as I have already mentioned above. Thanks a lot. Fahd
ianw1974
Maybe try this from the console: wineserver -k that might end the wine/crossover stuff, and allow you to continue with konqueror. Or, please post the output of: ps aux so we can see what processes are running, and which one to kill if the wineserver shutdown doesn't help. scarecrow
The only thing Crossover Office is doing is adding a few KDE menus and a couple of desktop icons- but it does not add anything as addon to Konqi. The only reason I can imagine that Konqi is crashing after installing Crossover is inability to display the new icons created (a circle with a blue X on it). This may be caused by a corrupt libpng (sounds ridiculous, but its a common Mandriva problem!) or because the icons are too big to be displayed (not too likely).
