inflexion Posted December 6, 2004 Report Share Posted December 6, 2004 Right im up and running with the firewall on standard setting (i havent touched it yet) and i can use all of my programs with no restriction but yet the update applet tells me that the network is down and in the log it gives this Checking Network: seems disabled Launching mdkupdate --applet Computing new updates... Connecting to http://www.mandrakeonline.net/online3_Remo...&host=localhost ... arctic Posted December 6, 2004 Report Share Posted December 6, 2004 Mandrakeonline is a subscription service - have you subscribed? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> yes...if you want to update your system, you need to google for easyurpmi, set up your mirrors as explained there. after that you can update your system easily via the mandrake-control-center or from the command-line (as root) with the "urpmi" command. check the faq-section on that one if you want.
