Artificial Intelligence
Hi :) Is it possible to get rid of the text under the icons that's on the desktop so it's only the icon(s) that is shown? Thanks .:=The AI Dude=:.
arctic
i guess that there is no way to do that. at least i never found a way to achieve this. but maybe i am plain stupid. :P Edited November 6, 2004 by arctic
durvish
I'm just guessing here but can you do it with GConf?
bvc
bummer, they changed it from 2.6. Icons used to be a text file in .desktop and you could edit the file and change the name to nothing. Not anymore. Ask here http://gnomesupport.org/forums/
Artificial Intelligence
Done. I'd put the question there.
Artificial Intelligence
Okay I got an answer from skynnyr at the Gnome forum: One way to achieve this would be to change the icon properties. Replace the names with the space character. The name of the "Computer" icon can be changed by editing the /apps/nautilus/desktop/computer_icon_name key with gconf-editor. If the key doesn't exist, create it. Seems to work :)
