(i'm at work & not on Linux right now) Chris
te-tsuo
In Kontrol center is no option for turning off right mouse button. There I can only turn off right mouse button for desktop. I'm interested in turning off this button for all (f.e. when i right click on icon in my desktop there shows me a menu -> i wont to turn it off, or thre is a menu when I right click on panel -> I must turn it off too). I can't find any option to turn off right mouse button globaly. Maby there is this in some file? If You have any idea how to turn it off please halp me :-) Maby when You will be at home and on linux? :D
DragonMage
You know.. it's hard enough to navigate X Window with only 2 buttons, now you want to use only one button? Anyway, have you tried mousedrake and set your mouse as a 1 button mouse? Maybe it help that way.
te-tsuo
Yes I have tried, but in mousedrake or mouseconfig I can choose type of mouse and for PS2 mouse there is no option for one button mouse Anyway, I must turn off right mouse button because this button gives potential enormously acces rights to launch , modiefy programs and cofigure KDE or even linux environment. devries
You want to control KDE acces? Use kiosk. http://extragear.kde.org/apps/kiosktool.php
te-tsuo
Yes kiost is a great admin tool to control KDE but it require KDE 3.2.2 or Suse Linux 9.1 and I have Mandrake 9.1 (I really can't change it) with KDE 3.
devries
http://216.239.59.104/search?q=cache:l0Dpb...kde+kiosk&hl=en http://www.bigwebmaster.com/General/Howtos...ementation.html Kiosk was there before KDE3.2. It just isn't as easy to use.
theYinYeti
With xmodmap, you can reassign button numbers. With this command, you could assign the right button number 6 for example, and it would become useless (X only uses 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5). Yves. te-tsuo
Can You write whole command to turn off right mouse button using xmodmap? I can't manage my self with this command.
theYinYeti
Changing mouse buttons, for whatever reason, works as I explain here: http://mandrakeusers.org/index.php?showtop...indpost&p=60941 In you case, you would do something like that: xmodmap -e "pointer = 1 6 3 4 5 2" That's provided you declared 6 buttons in your XF86config file (see link). te-tsuo
OK I have wrote it and I have 1 error message. "bad number of buttons, must have 5 instead of 6" I'm using PS2 mouse A4 Tech 3 button3 with wheel.
