Lemmie try that again except with"/" representing the division in collumns. I learned a lot just trying to fix this problem. Here's what it finaly came down to. I was reviewing all of the suggestions (I was at the end of my rope) and came accross bvc's comment about a firewall. I know I dissabled the thing a couple of weeks ago, but decided to check anyway. When I looked It was set to block everything. Thinking surely this isn't the problem, I turned it off again (no clue how it re activated in the first place). Lo and behold...... I am connected again . Anyway, I just wanted to give a great big thanks to all of you. I love this board. Hopefully I'm learning enough that I can start contributing to the answers and not just the questions :D Thanks again all. jdion81 Posted April 6, 2004 Report Share Posted April 6, 2004 you know what? last night when I was typing one of my suggestions I thougt it could be a firewall issue but I quickly overlooked that possibility while I was typing. B) Cool thing that you did not end up reinstalling. I read someones post (dont know where or when) that said that if you need to reinstall linux just to connect to the internet things are extremely messed up and most problems can be fixed with a little tinkering.
