Gnome 2.6 is out!

Plus w/ garnome you can have 2.4 stable along side it. Its like haveing two seperate gnome's, cause well, you have two seperate gnomes.

All the same, it's very cool!

 

It has support for some CSS3 elements, including the opacity element!!

 

That means i can have images and other objects layered in a page at different levels of transparency!!!!

I just finished updating my system from cooker: what a massive download! Along with what seemes like all of KDE is the start of the Gnome 2.6 packages. It dosen't look like everything is in yet, but I got a 2.6 splash screen when I restarted X. It looks like Mandrake is going to go for 2.6 in 10.0 Official.

I installed Gnome 2.4 recently...it had some things like 2.6, it was weird..

yep, there's 2.6 gnome-desktop, libgnome, and others that are 2.6

 

mandrake-cooker has been integrating the 2.6 features into 2.4 for a while.
