Dear all,

On my laptop I am running MDK9.2 and to access the net I have disable my ethernet connection b4 i can use my modem connection. My modem is properly configured with the smart link drivers. I know that I have tried editing the icfg-eth0 script to say on boot= no but because mandrake like redhat hotplugs and enables eth0 on boot regardless, I would like to know of a boot script that will disable eth0 while i am booting up or logging in using the command "ifconfig eth0 down".

Please help if you can.

are you restarting your etho card before trying to connect? since you have it set not to start during boot, it must manually be restarted. type the following in terminal as root........

ifup eth0

hit enter

then try to connect.
