Ok this is pretty annoying. I'm trying to run xmms/<random application that requires sound> and I keep getting: Error: Sound Device busy. Can only one program access the sound device at a time? If so is there a way around this? Thanks

ok I'm used to programming under windows but now that i've changed to linux i'm wondereing how do i setup kdevelope to compile C++ programs, I get a message saying "For this project to compile and run you need both Wine and MinGW installed." well i've installed wine but have no idea on what version of miniGW I need and how to install it. with mandriva 2005 power pack the radeon drivers where already installed for me :D

I would say its a ram problem try reinserting it (if it was fine before) then run memtest from a bootable floppy, I had all sorts of weird errors because of incorrectly inserted ram(explorer crashing and a messagebox coming up saying just "error")
