  1. It compiled for me. I used the SDL RPM.

    Boson anyone?

That looks cool. When I looked at the screenshots, I realized that I had heard of it before.

    NWN client delayed

Patience... I've been in contact with BioWare, but I can't let out secret confidential information. I'm no longer worrying about it. Just don't start bitching out the people that are on our team... We're lucky that they'd waste their time and money on us, especially since most of the people waiting are doing nothing but badmouthing them.
  4. I got it. I saw it for $10.99 Canadian, and so I had to get it. I can always sell it later. :) If it's not a proper publishing by LGP, I'll sometime donate a little bit of cash to icculus.org for Ryan.
  5. I've heard ORB sucks compared to Homeworld, but I'm not familiar with the genre that much. ORB *looks* nice.

    Tribes 2

UK = TuxGames. www.tuxgames.com They do have a USA office as well. I ordered UT2K3, SoF, and C3IE from them. I talk to their owner nearly daily. He's cool. :)

    Boson anyone?

I've never heard of this. What kind of game is it? I hope 3D RPG.
  8. Yay! It actually works for me!

    Disciples 2

LGP is porting this game. Preorder it at TuxGames if you like! This game looks sweet. I liked the first one, and I'm sure this one will be better. Just thought I'd post here to let you all know.
  10. Okay, so it seems that since this is just a beta and it expires, you may not wanna rush out to get the game. There may be a proper Linux release too. Keep your eyes peeled at the TuxGames website.
  11. On the other board. Anyhow. I have to make one more post. then I'm gone.
  12. Feel free to ignore this post, since I'm not even gonna read it now. I shouldn't have come back to the forums. Already people are pissed at me, and I was trying to have a sense of humor. ******************************************** I shoulda known it wouldn't work. I thought I'd just post once in a while on the forums, but nope. I'm just ruining everything. Screw it. I'll stick to IRC where I only get banned from channels while helping people. And I'll continue on my website. If you need to talk to me, you know where to find me. Look at that Chat link at the top of the page. Don't PM me, as I'm planning to not come back. Sorry for all the stupid shit I've done. Moderators: Feel free to mod me down, delete my posts, whatever. I don't care now. Keep this thread if it interests the rest of you, otherwise delete it or do whatever.
  13. If you want it to count as a Linux game sale, contact TuxGames and ask them if they could start selling it. I have done the same. Email: info@tuxgames.com
  14. I use: Desktop: Mandrake 9.0 & whatever distro I feel like at the time (Slackware 8.1 is installed on my 2.5GB spare partition on my second drive, IIRC*) Server: Mandrake 8.2 Wife's Desktop: Mandrake 9.0 & Win98SE (she hasn't used this since August, and it is only there for playing Planescape Torment. I don't know why she insists on completing that game...) * - that shows you how much I boot into it.
  15. You *could* do something crazy, like, oh I dont know, order the game online from a Linux vendor... No, that's just a crazy idea... I'd suggest http://www.tuxgames.com/?referrer=dolson Email is also a good idea. Be polite, and to the point. On top of that, BUY THE GAMES THAT ARE OUT. If we are too picky about what we buy, we won't get many ports... The AAA titles will come in the future, we just need patience and proof that we are spending our money.
  16. Who cares if it's "another shooter" ??? It's a GAME and it runs on LINUX, *NATIVELY* That's the important part. If we are gonna be so choosy about games, then no wonder we're getting next to none. In this vein, there is a new game that has the zoom-in/out features of SC2, but is an industrial sports game... It's gonna be announced on LinuxGames.com in a short time, I think. I have the game on my site: http://mdkxp.by-a.com/rpm/machineball.gz
  17. Look here: http://icculus.org/news/news.php?id=1028 It's just a beta, and it expires. don't buy the game if you don't already have it. Wait to see what happens, since it may turn into a full-fledged Linux game release.
  18. I had "problems" where things would take forever, and games WOULDN'T INSTALL. That's BAD. So I just did supermount -i disable.
  19. I only build modules unless I need it in the kernel to be able to boot. Don't build in certain things like AGP and sound drivers, else you won'y be able to upgrade, AFAIK. Basically, I leave it at whatever Mandrake had it set at, unless I'm removing it.
  20. Yeah, the wife's system supports UDMA66, and I put it to UDMA100. Bad move. It locked up about 2 seconds later, and I hit reset. Then all the data was gone. Heh. Well, some of it. I couldn't start KDE, but Samba (or NFS, I forget) still worked, so I was able to transfer most of her documents to my server. I got a lot of errors while booting though.... That was fun.
  21. You can learn C/C++ and SDL/OpenAL/OpenGL, and program it if you like.
  22. I'm not sure what you're looking for..... Gimme some example games, and I'll see what I can think of... Do you mean like Starcraft, or what?
  23. In Red Hat, IIRC, they include that app, and it's supposed to start CDs automatically ala Windows.. Maybe they don't, I'm not sure. But SuSE does, as do other "desktop" distros. It's been a long time since I tried Red Hat.
