Hmmm, thats funny. Mine doesn't ask me to do that, just click exit or whatever. Shouldn't ask it again. Btw, you can have mulitple windows inside firefox, just press ctrl+t or if you wanna click on a link, and for it to open in another tab. Just use your mousewheel *click* (push down on ur mouse wheel) good luck.

I don't really like Redhat at all, MDK! ....was never happy with FC2, switched to mdk and never looked back. Anyone else done the same?
-

my dad just installed mdk 10 official on his computer. and he put a cd in with just some files + folders. it had folders and mp3s etc, yet he goes to /mnt/cdrom and nothing shows at all. is there something i must do so he can view them. also so he can copy the files onto his hdd. edit: nevermind, fixed now. thanks guys

a friend was using mandrake, he told me it's alot better than windows. showed me some screenshots and told me a little about it. i liked what i heard and saw. and since my isp hosts the popular distros (ie: mdk + redhat etc) i decided to give it a shot. i know use mdk 10 for everything except gaming.
-
ok well, mdk 10 official is what i'm using. and i can't seem to open /mnt/cdrom when i put a cd in. i'm not sure whats wrong ....if i put an audio song in, i can play it through xmms fine. but i still can't view the songs in nautiluis (pardon spelling). i have files on cd that i wish to view, but something seems to be wrong. i'm using kde, any help would be much appreciated. i searched the forums and came up with some stuff, but unfortunately it didn't help me. Bus: ide Channel: secondary New devfs device: /dev/ide/host0/bus1/target0/lun0/cd Old device file: /dev/hdc Media class: cdrom

not sure what alsa is, or OSS (yeh, noob..) i don't really care what needs to be done. i just want gnome to run with sound (with xmms) i'll updrade xmms now though. how would i go about switching it to alsa, or OSS? a detailed explanation would be nice considering i'm a little slow.
-
well i guess i can just use kde for now until i pinpoint the problem, thanks for your help anyway.
-
Actually I use gnome. And hey what do you know, all my sounds work on kde ....but i'm not a big fan of kde (tis' why i use gnome) but yeah. not sure what i should do now lol ....why does it work on KDE, and not gnome?
