  2. see my thread "problem with superkaramba theme" with chris_z's responce, he gave me a link to an rpm superkaramba 0.33-2mdk (however on one of the themes it crashes)
  3. wait, it just did it, it works fine, thanks!!!!

I want to print to a network printer that i have already installed and set up on in Mandrake (aka i can print testpages to it from printerdrake) when i look at mozilla's print menu it says for printer postscript/default (this prints to the printer connected to my comp), what do i change this to to print to the network printer

  8. yes you can edit this file by loging in as root at the text prompt and using "vi" Step 1: log in as root at text prompt Step 2: type: cd /etc Step 3: type: vi inittab Step 4: scroll to the line that has id:3:initdefault: (it should be the first line that does not have a # sign by it) Step 5: press the insert key on your keyboard delete the 3 and replace it with a 5 you line should look like this now id:5:initdefault: now press the ESC key Step 6: time to save and close, do this by scrolling back to the top of the screen and type :wq ps. you shoul notice that when you type ":" that it appears at the bottom bar on the screen along with the "wq" Step 7: you can now press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart, and the Gui boot should come up again :D HOPEFULLY THIS WILL WORK!!! If it does not, plz tell me, i have hat to use vi many times to fix XF86Config-4 and Inittab oh and by the way, once you get back into the GUI download MDK 10 OE and install it, it is much less "buggier" lol

    Power down

hmm this is just the opposite for me, when i had MDK 10 CE i had to manually shut it off, but with MDK 10OE it does it by itself... hmm thats weird....
  10. i think it is kweather but i will have to check when i get back to my computer i think that it is part of kdetoys, or ktoys, or something like that, ill check
  11. to uninstall a compiled tar i go to the driectory, and do "make uninstall" right?
  12. ok sounds great, but what about this weird thing that is happening with all of the themes, not just liquid weather, see pic above
  13. trying to get that thing to work is a pain in the as...... i am a noob too, and i had the same card, and the same problem i could not get any of that ndiswrapper stuff to work, i reccomend getting a wireless eithernet bridge Look here then (if you dont have one) you will also need an ethernet card like this one Pci Card this way the only drivers you have to install are the default mandrake drivers for a generic pci ethernet card. I know this works because this is my exact setup now, make sure you read about the linksys bridge at that link, it explains exactly how it works :D hope this helps
  14. is there a way to add a logout button and a lock screen button to the taskbar if so, how? and is there also a way to make a shortcut key that will lock the screen, i remember in XP i made a shortcut to lock the screen by pressing a "F" function key can this be done? 15. ok i got liquid weather working with this superkaramba, so it must be .33, since i could not get it to work with the other one.... but now there is a slight problem.....(see pic below) it kinda sticks through all the other apps, is this a issue with superkaramba, or liquid weather? one more thing, i noticed that when i restarted kde that the superkaramba themes disappeared when it restarted, is there a way to have them start up when kde does?
  16. rt click>>properties works for me too, and i am not as root....
  17. did i mention when i go to a terminal and type superkaramba, it says that it cannot be found? th only way i can start it is to cd to that directory, or go and click on the icon itself it seems as though the whole directory /usr/local/kde is filled only with superkaramba stuff, i think the installer puts it all in the wrong dirs
  18. is there some way i can confirm that it is .33 and not some other package?
  19. found it at this location /usr/local/kde/bin/superkaramba found it after reading through that mess of code that i posted above
  20. i dont see superkaramba in /usr/share/apps, did i install it wrong?
  21. i have restarted, i went to the searce program and searched for superkaramba and karamba, in the / directory, so.. i dont know where it is...HELP!!!!!!
