You can subscribe to the cooker mailing list, or read the mailing list archives... seek and ye shall find. :D Here it is in the mailing list archives: /lists.mandriva.com/cooker Here's the latest comment from Colin Guthrie in the bug report #43897: comment #36 As you can see he has just pushed the new x11-driver-video-intel-2.7.0-3mdv package into the official 2009.1 /main/testing repo. All you have to do is add that repo to your sources list, then install it.
-
Actually, I believe that the current driver for your card is the problem. :) The devs are working on this in cooker, so you could try the x11-driver-video-intel-2.7.0-x in the cooker repo and see if it works any better for you. I feel certain that when they get it working properly with the new xorg-server in cooker they will push it into 2009.1 updates.

Thanks. You simply right-click on the lxpanel > preferences > select 'enable transparency'. Here's all the info on that panel config file: wiki.lxde.org/en/LXPanel

Mandriva 2009.1 using LXDE - it's very fast!
-
I'll mark this as solved, since there's no x11-driver-video-nvidia71.xx package available for 2009.1.
-
I believe that you have just been hit by the new xorg. According to this thread: nvnews.net/vbulletin It appears that the 71xx series driver doesn't even support xorg-server 1.5.x, and Mandriva 2009.1 is using xorg-server 1.6.1. I don't know what card you have, but you may have to use the nv driver.

Please try Cheese, so we can determine if the cam is working... before we try to fix Kopete.

Go to 'Configure your computer' > 'Network and Internet' > 'Remove a connection', then select and remove all of your wireless connections. Remove ndiswrapper and edit your /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-mdv file by adding the lines: blacklist ndiswrapper blacklist b43 then reboot your system. If your laptop has a wireless switch, is it turned on? Then go to 'Configure your computer' > 'Network and Internet' > 'Set up a new network interface', and configure your wireless card using the wl module. Let us know if that works?
-
It would help us to know what version of Mandriva you're using, and if it's 32 or 64-bit? If you're using 2009.1, you should be able to install and use the dkms-broadcom-wl package from the non-free repo. I don't believe that you can use ndiswrapper with NDIS 6 (Vista driver version) yet. Here's the driver I would try to use: hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex Then extract (using cabextract) the bcmwl5.inf and bcmwl5.sys for ndiswrapper to use.
-
It looks like you're using the proper module. I don't have a webcam yet so I can't really suggest an app to check it, but adamw also suggested using Cheese to test a cam, and it's in the repos.
-
I guess I'm not tidy either. I have 1-Main and 2-Main is very cluttered so I'll use this! :D

What are you doing? :) You've installed a 2008.1 src rpm as root, and also installed both 2009.0 and 2009.1 rpms? The 2009.0 and 2009.1 kernels already contain all the gspca modules [greg@halfway ~]$ /sbin/modprobe -l | grep -i gspca /lib/modules/2.6.27.19-desktop-1mnb/kernel/drivers/media/video/gspca/gspca_conex.ko.gz /lib/modules/2.6.27.19-desktop-1mnb/kernel/drivers/media/video/gspca/gspca_spca501.ko.gz /lib/modules/2.6.27.19-desktop-1mnb/kernel/drivers/media/video/gspca/gspca_stk014.ko.gz /lib/modules/2.6.27.19-desktop-1mnb/kernel/drivers/media/video/gspca/gspca_etoms.ko.gz /lib/modules/2.6.27.19-desktop-1mnb/kernel/drivers/media/video/gspca/gspca_t613.ko.gz /lib/modules/2.6.27.19-desktop-1mnb/kernel/drivers/media/video/gspca/gspca_main.ko.gz /lib/modules/2.6.27.19-desktop-1mnb/kernel/drivers/media/video/gspca/gspca_pac207.ko.gz /lib/modules/2.6.27.19-desktop-1mnb/kernel/drivers/media/video/gspca/gspca_spca508.ko.gz /lib/modules/2.6.27.19-desktop-1mnb/kernel/drivers/media/video/gspca/gspca_spca561.ko.gz /lib/modules/2.6.27.19-desktop-1mnb/kernel/drivers/media/video/gspca/gspca_zc3xx.ko.gz /lib/modules/2.6.27.19-desktop-1mnb/kernel/drivers/media/video/gspca/gspca_sonixb.ko.gz /lib/modules/2.6.27.19-desktop-1mnb/kernel/drivers/media/video/gspca/gspca_mars.ko.gz /lib/modules/2.6.27.19-desktop-1mnb/kernel/drivers/media/video/gspca/gspca_vc032x.ko.gz /lib/modules/2.6.27.19-desktop-1mnb/kernel/drivers/media/video/gspca/gspca_pac7311.ko.gz /lib/modules/2.6.27.19-desktop-1mnb/kernel/drivers/media/video/gspca/gspca_ov519.ko.gz /lib/modules/2.6.27.19-desktop-1mnb/kernel/drivers/media/video/gspca/gspca_tv8532.ko.gz /lib/modules/2.6.27.19-desktop-1mnb/kernel/drivers/media/video/gspca/m5602/gspca_m5602.ko.gz /lib/modules/2.6.27.19-desktop-1mnb/kernel/drivers/media/video/gspca/gspca_sonixj.ko.gz /lib/modules/2.6.27.19-desktop-1mnb/kernel/drivers/media/video/gspca/gspca_spca500.ko.gz /lib/modules/2.6.27.19-desktop-1mnb/kernel/drivers/media/video/gspca/gspca_spca506.ko.gz /lib/modules/2.6.27.19-desktop-1mnb/kernel/drivers/media/video/gspca/gspca_spca505.ko.gz /lib/modules/2.6.27.19-desktop-1mnb/kernel/drivers/media/video/gspca/gspca_sunplus.ko.gz I believe that you want to use the gspca_pac207 module for your cam. I would suggest removing all the mess that you have installed first. Then with the cam attached, please post the output of lsmod | grep -i gspca

Fortran 77 program [solved]
Greg2 replied to Stephni's topic in Command Line, Kernel and Programming
Agreed. This is not the way to get help here. Stephni- Please let us know when your problems are resolved so we can mark the thread solved. Then when you have another question you can start a new thread with that title. This method will get you more help on this forum. :) -
Here's a page in English explaining it: English:Main_Page

I've never had that type of connection, so I can't give you first-hand knowledge on this. I would suggest that you install the rp-pppoe package from the official Mandriva repos. Then go to > Network & Internet > Set up a new network interface (LAN, ISDN, ADSL...) > DSL > Select your network interface to configure > Please select your provider. If your provider isn't listed, then you select > Unlisted – edit manualy > select 'PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE)' > fill in your access settings. Here's some more info on this: doc.mandriva.com Please let us know if you have any problems.

We need some more info to help you. Is this a wired or wireless connection? What model of router are you using? What type and model of wired or wireless card are you using? Welcome aboard! :)

I believe that is connected to this Here's the story: tech.yahoo.com/news

Try using the parm option. First, make sure it's not loaded with modprobe -r iwlagn then load it with modprobe iwlagn fw_restart4965=1 if that works, then you can add that option to an /etc/modprobe.d file.
