  1. thxs, you all. By the way when I do sensors-detect nothing works and my system locks at boot-tiime. Somehow it does not detect that my bus is an Isa chip.
  2. I'm trying to configure lm-sensors on my nForce-box, I know the modules I need, but.............. I can't remember which config-file to edit to load the appropiate modules at boot-time I've searching and I can't remember please excuse my very dumb question, but my memory is blocked

    CPU or RAM?

I'm running ML 10.1 cooker on an PII 400@500 Mhz with 512 Mb Ram installed and ML 10.0 CE (with most recent Update packages) on a AMD 2700+@2300 Mhz with 512 Mb Ram installed. B) The difference in speed when booting is not that great, the most difference I notice is when starting up Apps.

    Invasive Overnet

thxs, just the package overnet was enough, I'm trying to find a good filesharing-app. I'm used to DC++ under XP. And someone already gave me a tip about overnet, but I couldn't find it unitill now.

    Invasive Overnet

/off topic/ What do you use to have overnet running under linux? thxs
  6. try typing in root-console urpmi.addmedia updates ftp://ftp.nluug.nl/pub/os/Linux/distr/Man...ates/10.0/RPMS/ with ../base/hdlist.cz urpmi --auto --auto-select good luck
  7. Ok, thxs sofar. I still have probs. I've setup my network now, from my XP-box I can see my Linux-box and I can browse, read and change in the shares I've setup, sofar no prob....... From my Linux-box I can ping my XP-box, I can make a connection to it using smbclient from the commandline and browse it, make dirs, remove dirs and so on. I can see my XP-box using either smb4k or xsmbrowser, but when trying to acces it it says unable to find computer. Please give me some advise, it is more important to me to see and browse my XP-box from my Linux-box than the other way around (although it would be nice to do both).
  8. I've just updated my ML 10.1 CE (cooker) at this page: Click Me..........! You'll have to decide for yourself what you want! Good luck! B)
  9. Check if the links are good, I know that they are working on the mirrors to change the structure. Normally I use ftp.nluug.nl to update (it's closest) but this one is also not working at the moment. For the time being i'm using ftp.proxad.net
  10. Maybe it is possible, for the other ATI-user amongst us, to post the URL, where you found your solution. /edit/ found it myself, won't hold it back on you: Click me, and you will get to the page /edit/
  11. There's no need in reinstalling ML. I assume you can't get any further than a prompt. Here you con type (as "su" or "root") drakconf, with this tool you can restore to the original setting and go into GUI again.
  12. Before I update, I always check on ML-homepage which mirrors are available! I think they are changing all the mirrors at the moment, normally this is a sign to check ML-homepage. I think there is something comming!
  13. Hi to you all. I've been searching the internet for more than a week now to find the solution for my prob. First I'll tell you what I have in mind. I'm trying to connect my two workstations via my Zyxell adslrouter to eachother. I've made a simple smb.conf: When on my XP-box, I can see my Linux-box but I cannot browse it, When on my Linux-box I can make a connection using smbclient ***.***.***.*** .... but when I try to make a Samba-mountpoint in MCC I cannot see my XP-box. Maybe you guys can take a short look at my smb.conf and give some hints. Thx so much in advance
  14. After installing ML you get a screen with the overview of the installation, in there I set up my network again and fill in the appropiate hostname (s). After changing smb.conf, Trinity (XP & ML 10.0 CE) and Morpheus (ML 10.0 CE) are recognized in Matrix (my network). :P
  15. On my XP box I'm using Direct Connect at this moment, haven't figured out yet if there is an Linux-version. Maybe one of you guys knows this. Thx
  16. Try to configure it with what ML is suggesting and see if it works. I did'nt change anything and it works fine. I still have to figure out how to install the official ATI drivers, that's my next project.
  17. I'm trying to switch to ML completely on my main box, but I'm looking for Linux-alternatives of Windows-apps. For instance, I'm looking for a good cdcover-designer, under XP I used to make my covers in Nero. Maybe you guys have some good links where to find Linux-apps. Thxs
  18. Funny thing is, I checked /etc/sysconfig/network and my hostname was already there! At boot there was a message like "setting hostname to: trinity.com. But when it was completely booted it would still give the standard hostname. After editing /etc/rc.d/rc.local my prob was solved, dunno why!
  19. I also tried Ronin's solution, but it did'nt work for me....
  20. It works perfectly for me, all my hardware is recognized out of the box (including USB-printer, USB-Camera and Memorystick). As for browsing-speed, I work with Opera and I did'nt notice any differences. B) I only encountered some minor probs, with XMMS (it does'nt play with soundwrapper) and with setting my fancy hostname. I'm very enthousiastic about the improved speed and offcourse about the looks! Go Mandy, Go Mandy

    XMMS wont play

I've solved it, at least it is working now just fine (don't know my solution will cause other probs). I've edited the properties of the XMMS icon, I deleted the command soundwrapper.
  22. Thxs Pipplo this works for me! [edit] typo [/edit]
  23. Please explain how to do this, I've never done this before. Thxs.

    XMMS wont play

I think I've got the same prob, but I did'nt figure out what the problem is. So if anyone has some suggestions........
  25. I've recently installed ML 10.0 CE. In ML 9.2 I could specify my hostname to a more fancier name, but I can't seem to get it to work in ML 10.0 CE. Does anyone have a suggestion?
