  1. https://mandrivausers.org/index.php?showtopic=26814 and make sure you have all the win32 codecs installed (these can be found at PLF).
  2. Using Mandriva 2006. I guess that means your card is only supported by newer versions of ivtv. Read my topic in the tricks and tips forum for ivtv on Mandrake 10.1 on how to install a newer version.
  3. Cinerella: http://heroinewarrior.com/cinelerra.php3 for non-linear editing
  4. In the MCC, go to login and adjust the settings to your liking.
  5. It depends on what you want to do. If you just need a basic firewall use the mandriva default settings (MCC-->Security-->Firewall'
  6. Then try different alsamixer settings. :)
  7. Open a console and type: alsamixer. Unmute every channel (by toggling m)
  8. If You use KDE, open the kde control center, access and select the correct keyboard layout and model
  9. http://www.misticriver.net/showthread.php?...read+%22main%22
  10. If you use KDE: open the kde control center, acces, keyboard layout and select your model. With Khotkeys you can configure your keys (als under acces in the KDE control center)
  11. Check if the old nvidia kernel module is still there and rename the new one? (somewhere in /lib/modules/don´t know the exact path)
  12. Try stopping dkms (as root: service dkms stop) and start X (as normal user: startx startkde)
  13. Open a console, log in as root and type: chmod 666 /dev/dvb Then try again.
  14. Update to Mandriva le2005 or 2006. These come with the qc-usb driver.
  15. Ha.. its not the Dutch Santa Claus but Santa Claus is the American (and English/Australian) Sinterklaas.. :D http://www.the-north-pole.com/history/
  16. Check the output of ./configure for hints. It usually says something like: XX /usr/bin/..... yes. That would mean it expects program XX to be in /usr/bin. Look for win32 (and it will probably say: no :) ) and where it expects the codecs then put them there.
  17. This probably happens because there are still KDE 3.2 rpms installed on your computer. Uninstall them. If that doesn t help uninstall kde completely and install again.

    grip help

I haven t installed grip right now so can t point you to the exact location but there is an option in grip that checks the rip quality. Just disable it and the speed will improve.
  19. http://www.ee.oulu.fi/~tuukkat/quickcam/FAQ RTF :)
  20. Install problems: can t install kdeaddons because libkdeaddons1 is missing and can not install kdegraphics, kdetoys and kdeutils because selecting the packages makes urpmi not work (the installer just hangs, same when installing from a console) small bug in few latest builds: main channel select in kmix doesn t work. It is stuck on Master Mono and I want it on Master so I can use my multimedia keys :)

    Realplayer

Then you have to create an .asoundrc https://mandrivausers.org/index.php?showtop...094&hl=asoundrc
  22. These packages can be found at www.java.com and www.macromedia.com. You don´t need the real and acrobat reader plugins. Install the codec packages from PLF (just download them from the repository) and kmplayer. For acrobat reader install kpdf.
  23. If you use KDE open the kde control center (kcontrol) and change the keyboard and mouse settings (if you mean with basic settings the kcontrolsettings ignore my advize). :) Nice set btw but $250 for a mouse and keyboard seems a bit expensive.

    Realplayer

This means your soundcard doesn´t support hardware mixing. Solution: install Mandriva le2005 or 2006 or edit the.asoundrc (a hidden file in /home/your name). Search the board for examples.
  25. Try cups to setup or your printer if you are have difficulty with the Mandriva tool. Open a browser and in the addressbar type: localhost:631
