I was curious if Mandrake would add Gnome 2.4 to the next release canidate? Why you ask.... Gnome 2.3.5 is a test version of 2.4, and since 2.4 is complete it would make sense that they added it.....

Just be glad we got the Neverwinter Nights port.... It's a great game. SW:KOTOR..... it's an ok game, but personally, I think NWN is better

I would use Frank's winetooks 1.22 to set up a viable fake windows registry. Also there are a few other things you might have to edit (I had to to get Starcraft to install right with wine v20030709 built from source)

Alright, 2.6 beta is out.... sweet. I wonder how much of an improvment it will give my systems.... then again, hopefully it's not like Windows... the core of the OS becomes a system hog..

Nope, they are fine Dolson, but I am going to write my own. One thing I found out while writing a new Starcraft How To is that a lot of the tutorial's are outdated as in "--winver win95".... it doesnt work because the "--winver" option is gone. But thanks anyway. I might use them as a source, but I am not going to copy them.

hehe.. not really, it's jsut t hat I have the Windows version of *most* of loki's games.... Oh, and truely hate piracy

why dont you leave your Windows extended patrtions? They are fat32 and you can read and write into them from linux once you mount them correcty. Plus if you have data you dont want to loose on Windows , they can act as a life boat.

Also check out KDE-look.org . There are some game icon packs there. Just search for them, because some are in a pack, and some are seperate.

*sigh* Guess I will have to wait for Wine to catch up. They seem to be doing pretty good with Direct X considering that havent been tryingt o port Direct X for very long (or as long as Transgaming). **Note: I dont not like Transgaming

Yea shadowing, but it's really not THAT important, but kudos to the GTK guys. Last time I checked, Mandrake 9.1 didnt run GTK 2.2...

Hey, I have a small problem, my old Gateway Select PC (AMD Athlon 1.0Ghz T-Bird) has an unusal disk controller (no idea what it is) (locks at INIT Version 2.84), and so far I have only found two releases that work well on it. Mandrake 7.2 and Red Hat 7.3. But recently that complicated even more by the fact that it has an ATI 9000 PRO graphics card in it and XFree gets and error saying that it refreshes too fast. Anyway, I have heard that Knoppix should be able to run the the computer (going to try that tonight), but is there and non-live based distrobased off of Knoppix, or is there a way for me to fix RH 7.3? Thanks.

..just think what would have happend if Mandrake DIDNT fork from Red Hat.... Back on topic. Typipcally once people are doing something for money and no longer because they enojy it, the project suffers, and tends to die. I think it was a good idea to fork gentoo. I like the portage system, and well, there needed to be another Distro with it. IMO I would like the fork to have a more user firendly install.... ....ok stick a fork in me I am done.....

Yea, thanks... thats going to help, but still there are other games.... like Red Alert and Starcraft that I have found for How-To's for linux, which are not on the list. I mean, I am looking for all games, new and old. I read the list on Linux COmpatable, but it's so full of WineX it's not funny. But if you know of anymore let me know

Hell look at SCO in Japan warning them to be afraid of linux..... right after the Japanese government decides to use linux to do payroll. Butthe fact is that linux has already be delt a blow, but I think we have seen the worst of it so far, and SCO go bankrupt (with the way they have acted, their buisness practice looks shady, and well no buisness like a shady partner
