      Mandriva Official Documentation

Official documentation for extant versions of Mandriva can be found at doc.mandriva.com.   Documentation for the latest release may take some time to appear there. You can install all the manuals from the main repository if you have Mandriva installed - files are prefixed mandriva-doc.

      Forum software upgrade   10/29/17

So you may have noticed the forum software has upgraded !!!
A few things that have changed. We no longer have community blogs (was never really used) We no longer have a portal page.
We can discuss this, and decide whether it is needed (It costs money) See this thread: Here

  1. StarCraft 2: Let it be known you want to play!

I'd sign, however, Blizzard doesnt care.
  2. Running steam on wine

Humm, I dont know what to tell you. I read your problem, and on my system (Kubuntu 8.04) I did the following to install Steam: 1) Build the latest version of WINE. 2) From the terminal as a normal user: wine msiexec /i SteamInstall.msi' 3) Follow the normal install routine, same as windows. Did you use the latest build of wine? I am asking because of this line: err:ntlm:SECUR32_initNTLMSP ntlm_auth was not found or is outdated. Make sure that ntlm_auth >= 3.0.25 is in your path. This is probably your problem with not being able to login to Steam.
  3. Man-Puke

Good ole' milk toast Red Hat. You have have many different versions of Red Hat, but in the end, it's still Red Hat
  4. Enemy Territory Fortress

The link send you to a download site. The offical link is http://www.etfgame.com/ . Sorry, I completely forgot about it
  5. Enemy Territory Fortress

Well, a TF mod has been released for Enemy Territoy, both linux and Windows. Enjoy http://www.clanrabid.org/etf/
  6. Multiple AP's and wireless

On my laptop I have gotten my wireless to work well except in one instance. At LSU (and my apartment) when ever there are multiple AP around, I cannot get a DHCP lease. I can see the AP's (iwlist scan) and it works fine on a single AP network (coffee shop and my parents house) but not multiple APs. Anyone have an idea for a fix (Running Ubuntu and a Prism 54 based card). auto eth1 iface eth1 inet dhcp wireless_mode auto wireless_essid off wireless_ap auto #wireless_keymode open|restriced #wireless_key1 WEPKEY #wireless_defaultkey 1
  7. XLink Kai for Linux is out

Woot.. Prepare to die Halo fanboys...
  8. Good Linux RTS

A long time ago in a place something like today I wrote a HowTo for Starcraft using WINE.
  9. True Combat Elite

Looks interesting, I will definatly have to take a look at it later
  10. Ok, I own a netgear prism54 (pcmcia) based wireless card, but mandrake cannot configure it. Can anyone give me some pointers?
  11. Best Graphics Card for Gaming on Linux

nvidia seems to be the best. My ATi Raedon 9000 gave me nothing but problems
  12. Xandros OCE

Well according to this page Xandros is giving away a version of it's OS. What do you think? Will you try it?
  13. Cannot install UT2004

Just a side note. MDK is the one distro that tends to hate games, at least for me
  14. FC 2

The most complaints I hear about FC 2 is that there are no media players. It's an annoyance, but can be easily overcome by adding certain repositories into your yum.conf file and typeing "yum install totem" for example. The last time I used FC was FC2t1 (due to outside circumstances...)
  15. MMPOG's are a rip off.

Right now I am playing World of Warcraft (for free) and the chances are I will not ever touch it again once it is released, but for now, it is mindless fun. The only time you cannot solo is when you go to the elite dungeons and instance dungeons ( that is unless you 5+ levels higher). It's incredibly boring untill you get a little group of people, and then it is fun.
