I'm using a a WG511 wireless card and yes you need to use the prism54 driver. The problem is, mandrake does not include the firmware need for the driver to interact with the card (for licensing issues i assume).
So, to get it to work, first you need to download this file...
http://prism54.org/~mcgrof/firmware/isl3890
And then place it into the folder..
/usr/lib/hotplug/firmware/
(if the folder doens't exist, just create it).
Just reboot, it should work fine. If not, post and i'll try to help more.

With outlook you can access hotmail. But with linux it's trickier. Take a look here...
http://hotwayd.sourceforge.net/
I've never used it, but I guess it's worth a look for ya.

Xorg is basically Xfree86 4.4rc3, so it's not really any diffrent than you're use to. I've been using xorg since it's release, and haven't had any problems with it. Only thing I can think of for your problem is reinstalling the nvidia drivers.

Yea tyme I should have reread that. It does sound a little okay a lot
What I mean is that the pack are like over a hundred dollars. Indeed some like 200 or so. Isn't that what some linux users complain about about MS?
Seems like I have heard that complaint.
Yea, i mean it's not like you can download Linux legally for free or anything...

I helped a friend setup Linux on that same laptop. Mandake was a pain in the butt to get working right. Gentoo ran nicely after tweaking. But there seems to be some fan control power managment issues (acpi prolly) with it. Also, I'm hoping to put together a battery saving faq and guide soon, once I get mandrake 10oe installed on my lappy. It might be of help.

Modeline "1440x900" 106.47 1440 1520 1672 1904 900 901 904 932 -HSync +Vsync

Redhat 7.2 (for like maybe 2 days, just when I wanted to see what linux was like)
Then a year later..
Mandrake 8.1
Mandrake 8.2
Mandrake 9.0
Slackware 8.2
Gentoo (where I'm happy and will prolly stay for a looonnnggg time)
I've tinkered with lots of distros, but those are the ones I've stuck with for more than a month.

Gotta love the gentoo docs and Documentation and tips&tricks section

Looks to me like this driver has not yet been ported to the 2.6 kernel... I could be wrong, but judging fromthe errors, and that there hasn't been a release for a while, I'd think this driver will not compile for a 2.6 kernel. You could try grabbing cvs of the driver and building it.

I remember running WinISO in wine pretty nicely.

well gentoo uses pretty much stock KDE, so you could try looking for a KDE specific support forum?
-
Err... I don't see where kde puts user edited entries
But why can't you just use the menu editor built into KDE (kmenuedit) to customize your menu?
