    Samba Troubles

Do you have a firewall running on both your pcs? Try disabling them and see if it works. If that's the problem, you will need to configure your firewalls.
  2. Did you set up urpmi? Then you could install it with following command: urpmi ati-xorg
  3. First: chmod +x sauerbraten_unix Second: ./sauerbraten_unix
  4. Thanks for the reply jlc. Was hoping you would reply. B) So correct me if I wrong. I could make use of a FC5 yum-configuration, including livna, and deal with dependecies problems manually?
  5. I will. But haven been using it for that long. So be patient. ;) Thanks. Will try this, and be waitin for your reply when you have more time.
  6. As I was very curious, I ve installed FC6 Test-1. So far so good. But I was wondering, as to how I should set up yum. I mean, I dont think it would be wise to set up yum using the FC5 repos. Would it? To speak in MDV-terms, isnt there a way to add cooker-like repos?
  7. Will check Gnome 2.15 with FC6 Test-1 this night on my test-box. B) Just being curious.
  8. As is FC6 Test-1. Downloading as I write this down... B)
  9. Solarian, I loved reading your FC5-review very much. Its almost similar to mine. I used FC4 briefly, but I prefer FC5. And Gnome on Fedora seems faster then on Mandriva. So thumbs up for your review.
  10. Just a little offtopic. But would you advise CentOS as server? And can I install additional packages with yum? I´m still looking for a good server distro and I like the Fedora structure very much. Sorry, for going offtopic here.
  11. I completely concur with that Arctic. I tried installing it on several pc´s but the case is that with about 80% of the installer of the ¨desktop¨-cd, it completely freezes. And only switching th power off and on solves the problem. I really think they stil have some serious issues.
  12. The first line is the kernel-source. The second line is your old kernel and the third line is your recent kernel. MCC says you have two kernel-souces installed, you only need one. I owuld advise uninstalling kernel-source-stripped with MCC. After that, I would try to install urpmi nvidia-xorg and post ypur xorg.conf after you rebooted. You could also give us the result of glxinfo | grep direct to see if the installation went oke.
  13. First type uname -r to determine your kernel. and then ls -al /usr/src to determine if you´ve got the right kernel-source. If both are 2.6.12-22mdk, then you can install the nVidia-driver with urpmi, with the following command and if you´ve added the PLF-sources to you´re urpmi configuration: urpmi nvidia-xorg

    Warsow

I like it already. It´s just a shame, that there aren´t that many servers around. Yet.
  15. Ran into some problems when trying to install it on my MDV2006 box. It can´t seem to find Java, although it is installed. It searches for Java in /bin/java but can´t seem to change the directorie it´s suppose to search. Any ideas?
  16. Looks nice. Will give it a try. ;)
  17. Downloading now, just being curious as the last RC wasn´t a great success on my notebook.
  18. Could be, but I´ve done that several times yesterday.....
  19. Hi, I´ve just installed Nexuiz on my FC5 notebook, with yum. But the sound is kind of funny. It´s a continous, kind of crackling sound. I don´t seem to have any issues with my soundcard when playing, for example: Supertux or PPracer. Btw, my soundcard is recognized as an ATI IXP SB400 AC´97 Controller and the module that´s been loaded is snd-atiixp. Hope someone can help me out here. Thanks in advance. 20. Somehow the problem is solved. I really don´t understand it. The only thing I did this morning was installing the ATi-drivers with yum. Could this be the problem? And if so, why would I have Java-support in Konqi before installing the ATi-drivers?
  21. I´ve been running FC5 on three pcs now, for the past 4 or 5 weeks, and I´m not experiencing any network-problems what so ever. Makes me wonder if this is a network-card problem. Did you have any problems with this network-card before, with lets say MDV?
