transparent panel

hi all,

 

is there anyway of making my panel transparent ?

i'm using plastique with all effects enabled and quartz for my windows and can't find a setting anywhere,

 

mandriva 2010 one, kde 4.3

System Settings--> Advanced--> Desktop Theme Details.  If you have something like the Glassified theme already installed, you can select the panel theme (which is transparent) from it.

thanks for the reply,

 

no, all i have is the 4 standard ones - i'm using AYA at the moment, which seems to be 'nearly' transparent,

 

any ideas or recommendations on any themes i could try ?

Try the glassified one that was suggested, downloadable here:

you can search this website and perhaps find some themes to suit if you don't want to use glassified.

Install glassified or any other transparent theme. Under System Settings--> Advanced--> Desktop Theme Details, click the Get New Themes button and browse available themes.  Glassified and Transparent Grey are there.

Air is very nice. Also, the background color can make it look not so transparent. If it's solid black behind it, for instance, it looks milky white and not transparent at all.
