energymedia
Hey folks, I am a Windows convert, having installed Mandrake 9.1 6 weeks ago. Used the KDE desktop and everything made sense to me. I have just upgraded to Mandrake 9.2 and I have found what is for me, a real problem. In 9.1 I used to click on the KDE menu, or used the "Windows" key on my keyboard and clicked on RUN. This is how I started most of my apps, ie rdesktop. Under 9.2 this RUN has disappeared and I am starting to dis-like linux. Does anyone know how I can re-enable this RUN portion of the KDE menu? liquidzoo
I believe there is an option for this in menudrake, although I do not know exactly where. You can also hit Alt + F2 and get a console dialog that will enable you to type in single commands. Hope this helps you out.
mystified
If you go to Configuration > KDE > Accessibility > Keyboard shortcuts there's away to change your scheme to use the Windows key. Hope that helps!
scoopy
There's a real easy fix to get this back... actually it is not a fix.... this is just a show/hide option. 1) Open up K menu --> Configuration --> Configure you desktop 2) Under "Look and Feel" select "Panels" 3) Click on the "menus" tab 4) Select "show run command" 5) Click "apply" and there its back :)
energymedia
Thanks a bunch everyone. Scoopy, your post was the easiest for me as a newbie to do. RUN is back and I am loving Linux again
