kilimanjaro
I just installed epiphany and I tried to run it from a terminal and I got this message. Cannot find mozilla installation directory. PLease set MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME to your mozilla directory What does this mean and how do I do it? I just did a clean install of 9.1 and things seem to be set up different than last time. I am confused!
HJ
Do you have mozilla installed? For epiphany to run, it needs mozilla to be installed.
mystified
Found this in google - You have to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH and MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME to the path where you installed mozilla libs.
bvc
If mozilla is installed, and you google for MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME you'll get google_search and find that you need to do MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME=/usr/lib/mozilla export MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME in a terminal. ....and try again. kilimanjaro
I do have mozilla installed . I went to the advanced searchand there was only 1 other thread and it was no help. What is MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME?
kilimanjaro
I guess I need to more clear here. Even if I knew what MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME was, I wouldn't know how to "set" it to anywere.
kilimanjaro
bvc I don't know what you are trying to tell me to do, should I type > MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME=path_to_mozilla_tree/dist/lib in a terminal? I tried it and I got: bash: MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME: command not found The only reason I have 2 penguins under my name is that I have had alot of problems, not because I know alot about mandrake. mystified
and find that you need to doMOZILLA_FIVE_HOME=/usr/lib/mozilla export MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME in a terminal. ....and try again. MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME is part of the shell script /usr/bin/mozilla I believe what bvc is saying is open up a terminal and type: export MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME=/usr/lib/mozilla Then try using epiphany again. Of course he'll correct me if I'm wrong. :P
kilimanjaro
I tried that as both a normal user and as root and all id did was give me another promt, and epiphany still doesn't work. I think cannonfodder was using epiphany, I will try a pm to him.
bvc
lieve what bvc is saying is open up a terminal and type:export MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME=/usr/lib/mozilla Then try using epiphany again. close. You also have toexport MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME I tried that as both a normal user and as root and all id did was give me another promtthat's what it's suppose to do :) ...but you have to do bothexport MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME=/usr/lib/mozilla export MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME I've used epiphany for quite a while now (4 versions) and have never had to do anything. You may want to try another rpm. Rt now, on ML9.2, I'm using Texstar 9.1 rpm's for moz and family. ftp://213.232.94.69/pub/Texstar/9.1/rpms/...1-1tex.i586.rpm
kilimanjaro
Well that didn't work. I just download it from texstar (I think) I just did a fresh install of 9.1 and I figured I would try epiphany. Mozilla does work. I tried export MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME=/usr/lib/mozilla export MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME as both a normal user and as root and nothing happened. It just gave me another normal, promt. bvc
In a terrminal, as a usr run; epiphany what are the errors? Also, do; ls /usr/lib/mozilla does it exist? It may be /usr/lib/mozilla-<version> (like mozilla-1.4.0)
kilimanjaro
When I try to run ephiany as a usr in a terminal I get bash: epiphany: command not found And for ls /usr/lib/mozilla I get ls: /usr/lib/mozilla: No such file or directory I checked and mozilla does work.
