Gowator
Sounds like posturing but Im not a lawyer. So far as I can see the site is saying WHY wait. If you spend 100 with us we'll process the claim you would never get around to using AND provide you with a alternative in the meantime.
jlc
I love this quote! Our plan is to continue to offer the MSfreePC service in spite of your threats. If required, we will be a voice in the courtroom defending a consumers rights to use technology and an online process to secure their settlement claims. I believe your company refers to this as the “right to innovate”.

zero0w
The problem is that not all people will take time to go out and write their own letters to Microsoft to ask for the settlement claim, or even know such procedure exists. While Lindows is trying to take advantage of this issue, what has Microsoft done to advertise the "right"/proper way for previous Windows users to secure their benefit thru the settlement claim? Does Microsoft want you to get your benefit approved by the Court?
Gowator
The funny thing is M$ has generated even more publicity for this! I agree, most people would be unaware and most of those not have the time. M$ could have let time slip by and a few would see the website. Sending a desist notification makes it headlinenews...Were talking about it NOW....
