qeldroma
I tried it, and 10 minutes later i bought it 8) Link: http://turboprint.de/english.html It installes as a kind of subdriver, that handles cups or lpd. You don't need to configure cups, after you installed this, but it integrates. You get several X and console tools for adding and managing printers. The driver is done to be so easy as possible to configure. Following some screenshots (of course it's english, too): Supported are: 0 - Brother_HL1650 1 - Brother_HL1670N 2 - Canon_BJC150 3 - Canon_BJC210 4 - Canon_BJC240 5 - Canon_BJC250 6 - Canon_BJC600 7 - Canon_BJC610 8 - Canon_BJC620 9 - Canon_BJC800 10 - Canon_BJC1000 11 - Canon_BJC2000 12 - Canon_BJC2100 13 - Canon_BJC3000 14 - Canon_BJC4000 15 - Canon_BJC4100 16 - Canon_BJC4200 17 - Canon_BJC4300 18 - Canon_BJC4400 19 - Canon_BJC4550 20 - Canon_BJC4650 21 - Canon_BJC6000 22 - Canon_BJC6100 23 - Canon_BJC6200 24 - Canon_BJC6500 25 - Canon_BJC7000 26 - Canon_BJC7100 27 - Canon_BJC8200 28 - Canon_BJC8500 29 - Canon_S100 30 - Canon_S300 31 - Canon_S400 32 - Canon_S450 33 - Canon_S500 34 - Canon_S520 35 - Canon_S600 36 - Canon_S630 37 - Canon_S750 38 - Canon_S800 39 - Canon_S820 40 - Canon_S900 41 - Canon_S4500 42 - Canon_S6300 43 - Canon_S9000 44 - Epson_StylusC20UX 45 - Epson_StylusC40UX 46 - Epson_StylusC60 47 - Epson_StylusC70 48 - Epson_StylusC80 49 - Epson_StylusColor 50 - Epson_StylusColorII 51 - Epson_StylusColorIIs 52 - Epson_StylusColor200 53 - Epson_StylusColor400 54 - Epson_StylusColor440 55 - Epson_StylusColor460 56 - Epson_StylusColor480 57 - Epson_StylusColor500 58 - Epson_StylusColor580 59 - Epson_StylusColor600 60 - Epson_StylusColor640 61 - Epson_StylusColor660 62 - Epson_StylusColor670 63 - Epson_StylusColor680 64 - Epson_StylusColor740 65 - Epson_StylusColor760 66 - Epson_StylusColor777 67 - Epson_StylusColor800 68 - Epson_StylusColor850 69 - Epson_StylusColor860 70 - Epson_StylusColor880 71 - Epson_StylusColor900 72 - Epson_StylusColor980 73 - Epson_StylusColor1160 74 - Epson_StylusColor1520 75 - Epson_StylusColor3000 76 - Epson_StylusPhoto 77 - Epson_StylusPhotoEX 78 - Epson_StylusPhoto700 79 - Epson_StylusPhoto750 80 - Epson_StylusPhoto790 81 - Epson_StylusPhoto810 82 - Epson_StylusPhoto870 83 - Epson_StylusPhoto875 84 - Epson_StylusPhoto890 85 - Epson_StylusPhoto1200 86 - Epson_StylusPhoto1270 87 - Epson_StylusPhoto1290 88 - Epson_StylusPro 89 - Epson_StylusProXL 90 - HP_DeskJet 91 - HP_DeskJet500C 92 - HP_DeskJet550C 93 - HP_DeskJet600C 94 - HP_DeskJet6xxC 95 - HP_DeskJet81xC 96 - HP_DeskJet82xC 97 - HP_DeskJet83xC 98 - HP_DeskJet84xC 99 - HP_DeskJet850C 100 - HP_DeskJet870C 101 - HP_DeskJet88xC 102 - HP_DeskJet890C 103 - HP_DeskJet895C 104 - HP_DeskJet92xC 105 - HP_DeskJet93xC 106 - HP_DeskJet94xC 107 - HP_DeskJet95xC 108 - HP_DeskJet96xC 109 - HP_DeskJet97xC 110 - HP_DeskJet98xC 111 - HP_DeskJet99xC 112 - HP_DeskJet112xC 113 - HP_DeskJet122xC 114 - HP_LaserJet3 115 - HP_LaserJet4 116 - HP_LaserJet4Si 117 - HP_LaserJet4V 118 - HP_LaserJet4plus 119 - HP_LaserJet5 120 - HP_LaserJet5Si 121 - HP_LaserJet6 122 - HP_LaserJet1100 123 - HP_LaserJet2100 124 - HP_LaserJet4000 125 - HP_LaserJet4500 126 - HP_LaserJet5000 127 - HP_LaserJet8000 128 - HP_LaserJet8100 129 - HP_LaserJet8500[/img]
DragonMage
How much is it? And is there an English version? The supported printer list seems rather poor though with only canon, hp and epson printers, where are the lexmarks, the Panasonics, the Samsung, the Okidata? qeldroma
Oh, and why there are mot all available printers is apparent if you go to the link  Small firm, small money, small possibilities. But what they have is equal or even better than the windoz-drivers....

ral
Are there any instructions for configuring it to work it OpenOffice. The manuak at the site uses StarOffice as an example. Pretty similar but somewhere along the way I messed up.

Glitz
Does anyone know if the drivers actually download the fonts used to the laser printer or do they still just use graphics mode? The reason I ask is because my LaserJet 3 prints downloaded fonts in higher resolution than its highest graphics resolution and the ghostscript driver does it no justice. The 1MB memory also wont store a full page of graphics either so downloaded fonts are the only way I can print out full page documents. Glitz.
